Survey Stashing: YouGov hints & tips

Hiya
I logged into Yougov yesterday and was concerned to see a 50pt 'redemption' on my account for a 'monthly prize draw'. I knew I hadn't asked for this as I'm saving for the cheque so wouldn't waste my points (they are hard enough to get!). Anyway I emailed them and got this response today so thought I'd let everyone know just in case you see this on your account too:
"This redemption is in respect of an Oracle survey. These remain, as always, prize draw surveys; you have not been penalised for taking part. A new operating system at our end means that we have to apply a 50 point reward and then redeem it straight away. I appreciate that this is a little confusing and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Thumbs up to Yougov for getting back to me so quickly

gaspode,
This is one reason I don't do the prize draws. I don't believe there is one anyway and it's just a way for them to get surveys done without paying for them.
Overall, I regard yougov as unscrupulous unethical scamsters. How can you expect people to work for you and not get paid for years is beyond me.0 -
I joined on the 5th May and I have gained 150 points by doing 3 surveys. Not sure if that is good or not, but the surveys are fun and often if you don't qualify you get put in the prize draw which is good.0

^^^Only there is no such a thing as a prize draw, sorry.
You will come to realise this in time.0 -
I won £250 in a prize draw last year so there must be...

Has anyone had problems with being paid the £50?
I finally reached 5000 points at the end of February, after more than 2 years. When I went to redeem my points they asked for my account details, which I gave but I still have not recieved the money nor had any replies to the emails sent. If anyone else has had a similar problem, what did you do to rectify it?

My earnings with YouGov work out at about £2 per hour, so I think I'll wait until my first £50 then leave it.
Each survey takes about 15 mins on average, for which you get 50 points, (shorter surveys pay 25 points).
You need 5000 points to earn £50, so you need to do 100 surveys.
100 surveys will take 15 mins x 100 = 25 hours.
So, 25 hours pays £50, i.e. £2 per hour. I think I'm wasting my time!0 -
Answer the monthly prize-draw surveys, sometimes they ask questions in those surveys which helps build your profile = potentially more surveys.0

I finally made it to my first £50 after about 4years but I did have a gap in there where I just didn't check. So some of that is on me. Since then though I've just put my points in prize draws when I do them... Horrified to see that this may not even be a real thing...!April Debt -£3,372

I only ever got political surveys from Yougov so unsubscribed as not done surveys for years. Not sure I ever got paid from them either.0
