Money for old Aluminium Greenhouse

Hi

I was wondering if any knows if you can get money for an old aluminium greenhouse frame at scrapyards at all? I know you can for cans, but wasn't sure if they accepted aluminium?

yes you can, but you might get more for it if you can sell it as a greenhouse frame rather than scrap.

As posted above, you would be better off selling it complete, you'd also avoid having to dispose of the glass.

The bottom has fallen out of the scrap market and last time we sold Aluminium on we got £150/ton. The frame for a greenhouse is propapbly only about 20kg which equates to £3

Thanks for the replies - will probably just take it to the tip then as it has already been demolished and was falling to bits anyway!

You can probably get it picked up for free by a scrappies. Just call them and tell them what you've got, they'll bring a wagon and take it away for you!

I took our greenhouse to the scrapyard about 2 years ago and got £112!

If you're going to take it to the tip you may aswell weigh it in! Same work involved.
