Moving abroad- being charged disconnect fees by virgin

As you can see from the topic, I am moving abroad, and am being told I have two pay two different sets of disconnect fees from virgin media, both £37, one for internet and one for tv.
I can't seem to find anything but I thought legally they cannot charge you for that because there is no way to take up new service with them? I know they have that bs policy that if you take up new service with them, that you don't have to pay the fee, but this isn't as though we are just moving to a new house in the same country and electing not to take up their service, they don't actually exist as a tv/internet provider where we are going..thankfully.
My husband overpaid the last bill thinking that he was paying for the current month but he paid for a full month when he should have been paying for the 8 days we still had it connected.
Anytime we try to deal with these people they are a complete nightmare, and they have really taken us for a ride in the past.

Assuming you are still in contract, they will charge you a termination fee equal to what you would have paid up to the end of the contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop
