For items normally on sale on our website this is indeed our policy. However for this special sale it was noted on the promotional email and at the bottom of offer pages that the prices were valid only while stocks last. I have passed your comments on to my supervisor who has agreed that in future promotions this may need to be highlighted better.

Unfortunately in a number of cases, such as yours, while we received the order, we were unable to fulfil those as other orders were recieved prior to them, which must take priority, meaning that the offers had ended for those products. As for the reason it took that time to notify you, on a number of occasions people cancelled part or all of their orders, meaning stock becomes available again, so while there was still the chance that we could fulfil your order, we left it pending.

Please note that contrary to what you stated above, you had not, at that point, paid anything; while we recieved your payment details, no transaction was placed (when you check your credit-card statement you shall see that this is the case). This is usually a minor technicallity, but I feel I must clarify that we do not take money for goods that we do not despatch.

We welcome all suggestions and in light of your comments, we shall shortly be adding a procedure that means that stock is checked at the last stage of the order process so that if we run out of stock prior to this we will notify you. This will reduce the potential number of disappointed customers.

It certainly is, I wanted the OC box set, put it in my basker, but then it disappeared and I went back and it was sold out
