a quick question from a newbie

Just a quick question re ISAs - I'm planning to open my first one. The thing I want to know - should I have a real serious emergency and need to get all my money out (assuming I have easy access ISA of course), od I just withdraw all my monies like that? Do I transfer it to my current account or withdraw cash in the bank? Or is there a special procedure? Sorry if the question seems stupid. Thanks.

Its the same as any normal savings account with withdrawing and depositing. Depending on the account you may only get access through internet, post, phone etc. Usually internet ISAs (usually called e-ISA) can only go through interenet, so a normal BACS transfer is required. (so 3 days)0

If your ISA is linked to your other accounts (same bank), you can do direct transfer through online banking and it's an inmediate transfer. You should be able to withdraw the cash at any point, directly from the ISA or by transfering to your account.
So do not worry, you can access that cash at any time.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
