talk talk rip off

Hi all
just signed up with talk talk broadband. Was told it was free by them, then recieved a bill for £21. I rang them up but was i told owe them £10, i told them i was told by them it was free so they said they would waver the £10 as i was getting broadband at that time. a week later i get a letter from my bank telling me talktalk tried to take the £10 out of my bank and because there was enough money in the bank, the bank has charged me £38 for an unpaid direct debit. i then rang talk talk and they said i should have cancelled my direct debit:mad: and would not pay the charge i incurred from the bank. can any one help ?

    Hi,
Could you re read your post as its difficult to understand.
AFAIK Talk Talk only offer 'free' broadband as part of certain call packages for which there is a charge.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I think the OP means there wasn't enough money in the bank.
Even the 'free' TT broadband attracts a one-off charge of £29.99.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

You completely misunderstood the offer, their broadband/phone service is not free and you are foolish for even considering they would provide you with a complete service nothing. Their standard offer is that the initial connection charge for setting up the internet and phone line account at your address is free, however you still have to pay them for the actual service.

Of course you were going to be charged but for the telephone service which you had to buy if you wanted broadband from TalkTalk.
Broadband from TalkTalk IS free (give or take the connection charge if you are charged it) if you are still on the old package.
The new tariff is broadband/telephone but is the same cost essentially as the old one if you add the Anytime boost. I feel it is well worth it.
