Hi everyone,
Son has broken his mobile phone and I'm about to take it into a shop to get it repaired but, as I know very little about mobile phones, I'm afraid I may get ripped off
I think its the little opening on the side of the phone that you plug your recharger lead into that has perhaps lost some teeth or something because he can't get it to charge.
I remember being in a T Mobile shop years ago and the girl saying that they charge a minimum of £30 before they would even look at a broken phone so possibly £50 now? Is it worth it as the phone was £100 a couple of years ago.
If he has a Samsung, do I need to take it to any particular retailer, there are so many in my high street, I've no idea where to start!
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks

Is this a super duper special phone, if not it may be better to look around for a new one. Netto had a Samsung SGH-C300 on for £19.99 - it was with Orange but you can get it unlocked for around a £5 in most stalls, and it should have some guarantee with it.
If it needs to be mended don't take it to the usual High Street shops look for one of the smaller ones who offer phone repairs or even market stalls.

Had a similar problem with my daughter's Samsung U700 that had suddenly stopped charging. I took it to a repair shop who checked (for free) that it wasn't the battery that was at fault and that it was probably an internal connection that had been broken. I was told that the cost of repair would be uneconomic. However, I bought something similar to this which charges the battery outwith the phone. Not as convenient obviously as just plugging in a normal charger, but means she still has the use of a perfectly good phone for a while longer. :beer:If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0
