Whats the easiest way to put some pictures up anyone?

Get a photobucket account upload pics of hard drive then copy and paste the img code onto here.

As for the tyre it's a hard thing to prove :(

    Ok thanks on it now.

Yeah i realise its gonna be a bit of argument. From spending 5yrs working in a dealership i know how these things go - having said that i've never seen a side wall split in this manner without a big delve in the alloy. I.e where someones bounced through a pot hole or up a kerb etc.

  • That's exactly what you'd expect to see from hoofing it up a kerb or similar. If it were roadside debris I would have thought the tear would have been in the direction of rotation.

    Hmmm that a fair point.

Yeah i have seen tears like that from going up a kerb. But in those cases the tear was as a result of the sidewall being squashed with force against the wheel, which left a dent in the alloy (which are quite soft) as well. I have done no such thing!

Also what kind of manouvre do you have to be doing to hoof the rear offside up a kerb without damage to the other wheels?
  • It doesnt look like kerb damage to me.

That nick on the top picture looks wierd though. Its a cm or 2 to the left of the split.

Just because I am a nosy git, where were you parked before & where on the car was the wheel?
    Not Again
  • I left the car outside my friends house all weekend. It was parked pretty hard up against a hedge. The wheel was on the Rear drivers side. I asked my friend to check if there was anything where i was parked immediately he said no.
  • Looks to me like something has cut the tyre. From the nick just to the left of the split in the top picture & you can follow the line down. In the 2nd picture you can follow the line in a kind of diagonal where it finishes just above the "A" in TRACTION. Halfway through its become deep enough to cause a blowout which splits downwards but a smaller force travels up the original cut & causes the wavy cut on the left of the top picture.

In my 100% unprofessional opinion of course.

As said that looks like it's had a clout.
