A friend recently changed over from Orange to Talk Talk for broadband a nd it all went very smoothly, so I thought I give their current offerings a look.
Went as far as putting my phone number in to do a speed estimate, which as it happens was about half that I get with my current ISP. It probably the old BT estimator which doesn't do ADSL2.

Anywho, today I get a call from Talk Talk, 'can I speak to the person who visited our site the other day!!'
We had a brief chat, so top tip, if you don't want a sales call from Talk Talk, don't put your number into their site.

Yes, I did a similar thing, they called me last week, exact same request so I said I would go and get him and left the phone off the hook for approx 30 mins . I don't expect they will call back...

To be fair it tells you this underneath the box you enter your details but it is in a small font

During this month when you check to see if you can receive broadband from TalkTalk, you will be automatically entered into a prize draw. Competition entrants will be contacted by TalkTalk to discuss your broadband requirements

Had similar last month when shopping around. Several phones calls from TT and a phone call supposedly from BT asking if we had asked to switch!!!?? A not very friendly email from me and received a quick reply from customer services saying very sorry. Still had two more phone calls from them. Lesson learned.

Thats sly, I didnt think they would go as far as to log and ring back those who submit a simple speed test!
