Bank telling every one except me account is closed

My bank is telling all my Direct Debit people that my account is closed. They have not told me this, in fact when I telephoned them on Saturday they said they had not been saying this to any one - today the third company has told me that this is what Abbey has told them.
What can I do? To whom should I write? What recourse do I have?

yeah move. HSBC, Coop, or Nationwide are the safest banks.0

They wont be telling people. their system will be when DD's are presented and there will be a reason for this.
You need to establish why your DD's are being rejected rather than poorly explaining the situation.0 -
As above move banks,Abbey are uselessI have a deep burning indifference0

If the account is closed how does he move banks?0

Switch all DD to A+L account and get £100"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yes bank switch will happen, but what about the fact that the Abbey is telling lies to everyone? Surely this is against the banking code?0

Abbey have not told anyone your account is closed. Am poster further up has told you this yet you are still peddling your made up claims.0

Why is saying the bank is saying the account is closed is wrong, if the DD's are being presented and returned accouint closed or the orignator is being informed account closed without presentation which can also happen surely your point is wrong and the OP is not peddling anything as you put it. The companies he pays money to by DD are being told the account is closed, no?0
