Hire car price shocker!!!

18 days in spain in August from Valencia airport with carjet for a ford focus is £504. I've never booked a car for this long before but last year same place same time for 14 days was £304. i read an article at the weekend that hire cars were going to be scarce this summer in europe and that prices might be a bit higher than usual but this seems really high

What about 3 weeks (21 days) weekly rates might be cheaper, just take it back earlier perhaps.

The value of the euro has dropped significantly so that will have a major effect on the cost.

Duh! I think you'll find the value of the euro has increased significantly and that would explain the increase in the cost in sterling. :idea:

13 days in Murcia in July for a peugeot 207 a balmy £311 !
Add £58 for the tank of fuel and £12 for Screen and Tyre Insurance ..
Not as cheap as normal but sadly still have to have it.
The Fleets of cars are really cut back saly.

This one has caught me out too, so glad i'm not alone, though it doesn't make it any better really.

9 days hire for a corsa from Malaga airport this year is about £200-20 once extras are paid for. Same car was about £90 all in last year. My eyes flew out of their sockets when i saw the quotes!

If you're after cheap car rental in spain i defineatley recommend you check out brunoscar.com we were recommended them by friends several years ago they are an independant spanish firm and are much cheaper than the larger chains 5% off for rentals over 14 days as well
