I would say, you wont need to drive it. From muswell hill to camden by tube, I cant imagine it taking more than 10mins. Driving, is a nightmare in london, avoid it if you can! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
As a North London girlie born and bred , I can say that I would avoid living in Camden. Prices are too high for what you get and you can get much more for your money if you go a few stops up on the Northern Line. Try East Finchley , Finchley Central or even Mill Hill East . I used to live in Muswell Hill and absolutely loved it , it is a real happening place , however the downside is the bus ride to Highgate Tube Stn , or any other tube Stn . Camden also has residents parking which is really expensive and even then does not guarantee you a parking space. Good luck , come and visit and get a feel for the place, feel free to post if you need any further info .0

That's true about the bus ride to the tube from Muswell Hill (you can walk it in 10-15 mins), but there is a bus going to Central London via Camden Town, which is where her bf will be working. So if you hate the tube as much as I do, that would be perfect.0

We live in Muswell Hill and I like that I can get on the bus with the kids (free
) and ride into central London - Tottenham Court Rd/Euston on the 134 or Liverpool Street/London Bridge (walk to Waterloo) on the 43, or if I walk into Muswell Hill a bit more I can get buses to Brent Cross, Stoke Newington, Finsbury Park or of course walk through the woods and jump on the tube to anywhere in London. You can also bus down to Kentish Town and then swap to the around London train line too.
It does depend on where in Muswell Hill you end up of course but it is a nice place to live

My best mate has rented in london for years - mainley north london she has lived in and loved :-
East Finchley
Highgate
Finchley Central
Woodside park
She also lived in harlesdon and hated everyminute of it... that was her flatmates choice!
East finchely and around that area is absolutely lovely - and always lots of flats/house shares to rent. My mate lived in a house share with the landlord having the top floor then moved to highgate and it was nine separate rooms with a huge communal kitchen so very varied accom around. I too love muswell hill.
I would love to live in that area!
Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the posts - I really hate the tubes so I would be more than happy to get the bus! I have been looking on various websites and it looks like Muswell Hill is the favourite at the moment.
My b/f is delighted with the response we have got from you all, as we probably would have ended up going for somewhere in Camden if we hadn't put the post up here! - so thanks again.
I am going down on 24th March to have a look around so will let you know where we end up!!
Cheers xx0
