where has today gone?
Managed to get all my online banking bits done and ordered some cinema and theatre tickets for the boys.
Going to do 15 minutes in the living room to hopefully finish it off and then get the washing in.
Off to school quiz tonight with DS1&2 so hope you all have a pleasant evening.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
DD hasn't stopped talking since she's come in at 3.30 :mad: I just threatened to duck tape her mouth shut as she's driving me mad. Then I had a :idea: She's going to be doing a sponsored silence in Brownies soon... so blackmail of 10 mins silence = 1 scoop of ice-cream and good practice for the Brownies silence
:rotfl::rotfl: So far so good
:rotfl::rotfl:
Flying - erm.. I've printed out the list and I am going to work on my assignment...once I've made tea and chased DD to bed. BUT I am stopping at 8pm to watch last weeks NCIS again before the final episode tonight....while also trying to distact myself from buying Bones Season 4 on itunes for £46 when it will be coming out on DVD in September so I'll be able to get it through Lovefilm...
Right, tea time.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Summermoon I didn't realise you worked in that one, been there before as DPs club runs in Jarrow school lol Think of work as a break from the kids and daily boredom
much better
soappie I hope you have a nice holiday and the forecast is wrong, that is a good idea for the council and I wish ours would!
Phil hope you have a lovely birthday
Valli, I have had similar happen to me, we watched an idiot overtake 6 cars nearly hitting 3 on the other side last week, I really do wonder why people are such idiots on the road.
nicki I won't get anything off itunes since I found out if your PC goes belly up they won't replace what you have bought, they make you pay again which I think is terrible! Oh and well done with the silence practise
LL thinking of you
Pigpen, however cross I am that you won't get checked at the doctors I know you dislike them and I am relieved you're starting to look after yourself. Oh and give your Mam a jib in the ribs for not turning up when she said she was going to!
Been to doctors as I had to take DS1 anyway and I've got some sort of chest infection according to doctors, 2 temp GPs couldn't decide what so got ABs and told to rest ? Are they senile ? Rest ? I did actually manage an hour this afternoon when DP got up to watch DS1 but needing it as not sleeping night time. Anyway DS1s also got eye drops as he's managed to get an eye infection so bit of a nightmare trying to get those in the ickle monster. Just want us both better for next weekend when we go away.
My lovely tutor I haven't met has cancelled yet another tutorial tomorrow, not had one yet as she keeps cancelling them. It was supposed to be one to go through the final assignment preparing as it's huge and complicated.....so guess we'll just have to plod on without it. Nothing like giving people plenty of notice as it's tomorrow am and some people were supposed to be staying over in the area for it as they come from all over.
Boys are sat eating Easter eggs so think I will get DW emptied and refilled, not done much again today, really in need of some energy. It's getting to the stage because I am not clearing as people dump stuff piles are appearing everywhere, oh and there is a mountain of clean laundry needs taking upstairs/putting away......hopefully have more energy tomorrow. Tonight I think I best concentrate on the studying as I have to get the eCMA sent by 18th, then written for the other course posted by 20th.One day I might be more organised...........

Evening all.
An interesting afternoon. Like the curate's egg - good in parts!
But business first - I have updated the stars to this point. Now, as I'm off on holiday mid morning tomorrow, I need someone to take over the star keeping. Just in case someone else completes something before Sunday. I've had a comprehensive text from our dear Toots and she will probably be unable to post for the next couple of days or so. Therefore, we need a volunteer. All you have to do is quote my post at #330 then edit it as yours. Any takers?
I have also just about finished the packing and done some flying. Also, very embarrassingly, found some money that I didn't know I had. I took the binoculars bag down from its usual perch to show NN them (we'll be taking them on holiday). As I took them out, I saw the bottom of the bag for the first time in many, many months. There was £80 in notes sitting there! I don't remember putting it there at all. DS said he's seen it in there for a least a year! But, hey ho, more holiday money
And now, this is serious :mad: rant alert :mad: so be warned
I decided to tidy up all those odd admin jobs like end of year returns pay corporation tax etc. etc. before I go on holiday. I managed to navigate the Inland Revenue site and do stuff there. I managed to do the PAYE and write the cheques for that.
I then attempted to pay my Corporation tax online. My business account is with NatWest. I have a payee set up for corp tax - inland revenue. But, the reference number needs to be changed each year (by one digit) so they know which year it's for. I attempted to change the payee and the online system told me I couldn't. I need a card reader to do that.
I have NEVER had notification either electronically or through the post to tell me that they are changing the rules.
I phone up. I'm told yes, card readers are being phased in. Would I like to order one? I ask how long it will take to come through. :mad: I'm told about 7-10 days. I ask how I'm going to be able to pay my corp tax before then? :mad:
They say they'll change the reference number for me. They do that. I'm still not allowed to make a payment without a reader. I discovered I could pay existing payees without modification (just as well!) but not modified ones. I was so cross! :mad: I ended up having to get the people at the end of the phone to make a telephone banking payment for me.
At the very least, what NatWest should have done was send out card readers to people and tell them the creation/modification facilites for new/existing payees would be withdrawn via the old route AFTER the readers had been received rather than just cut the facility off.
What should have been a 30 second operation ended up taking 20 minutes and at the expense of a phone call. I'm going to write a steaming letter to my business manager! :mad:
There, that's off my chest!
Off to do some dinnerI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

(Logged off due to thunder and lightning - but I have cleaned my bedroom so I can have another star...or I could pad out my star claim in much the same way as our elected representatives:rotfl: specially if I am in charge...
muhahahahahahahahahaha)
Have decluttered DD's lightshade to attic as she cannot bear to part with it (Winnie the Pooh - bought, in truth, before she was born but when we moved here the curtains from the kids bedroom fitted her 'new' room, which was already decorated with Pooh 'decals' and had the duvet cover etc. - New lightshade bought about 4 weeks ago as final piece of decor in her room.) Trouble with clearing is it all ends up in my room.
Must see about getting rid of Maisie duvet cover...
