All these hard done by graduates pleading poverty should move jobs or stop moaning. There are more important indicators of success than the number before the K, like personal fulfillment, or the hapiness you bring to those around you.Been away for a while.0

Hi Level 301
I feel for you as I think you have been given a hard time on some of these posts, just because you have money and spend it!! So what?! At least you are thinking ahead and not spending money you don't have.
Car insurance will very expensive for you with any car - I would recommend car rental occasionally for someone in your position, as someone else has already suggested. You might as well wait until you are about 28 before you own a car the way insurance is, especially for men. You are lucky in some respects to be living at home and on that salary, but I can see that you don't want to be too bogged down in your twenties and you obviously have several conflicting priorities. It's ok people saying stop spending so much etc but perhaps living with your parents gives you a feeling of security that a lot of people on this site don't have and they have learnt the hard way to be sensible. I think you will need to strike a gentle balance somewhere in between saving and spending, be patient with your saving and look at your outgoings - there will be loads of areas where you are just throwing away money. You can still have a great time and save as well, in your position.
In the end you have to find what really matters to you (hopefully more than just "sh*£GG*ng blondes and brunettes" as one MSF member suggested), and that is probably difficult to separate from what matters to your mates and all the peer pressure that comes with it.
I feel like I'm stating the obvious but I thought some of the responses were a bit harsh. London is a hard place to buy property in so good luck, you need razor-sharp focus on that if it's what you really want, it is the only thing which won't be a waste of your money in the long term. Anything else is pretty trivial in comparison, in my opinion.0 -
when you buy try not to get a one bed flat..they are a b to sellIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
