You want this one:Buyers in countries to which I don't ship

Hmm....seems censorship is in force in this thread...:naughty:

I made a comment about the above sarcastic post suggesting the orginator might like to refrain from giving their advice if it troubles them so much to do so.

My comment was removed, (as this one probably will be) so i draw from that, If your not pro ebay and you don't support those who abuse people who post here looking for help your input is not wanted.

And to think people come here expecting helpful and objective advice..:naughty:

There are three places where the settings have to be adjusted, not just two. Firstly the seller preferences, already covered above, secondly overseas postage must not be shown for individual countries but thirdly, and the one always left open as it is a default setting for most people is the actual countries boxes. Hidden away in the listing details is a box that says 'ship internationally', if that is left 'open' then overseas bidders cna bid.

If you have all your settings set properly log in and contact live help and explain they will need to check your listings and see why this has happened as you have a bidder that should have been blocked by the system.

This is not a known fault and on the rare occasions it gets mentioned on the community boards people haven't set their preferences correctly and this gets pointed out very quickly,

    thanks for the sarcasm

i have sold over 700 items and never had a bidder from abroad before, never mind

thank you again for all your "help"

oh and for the record, i checked and that box is ticked

Ok, all you had to do was say so  but you ignored the first post.

Now that I know your settings are correct, (ie. I have the full information) I have more suggestions... but I don't suppose you want to hear them.

You are an experienced Ebay seller and as this should not have happened get in touch with Ebay. Plus Email the buyer. They are probably genuine. Plus not all overseas buyers have things shipped abroad. I am in France much of the year and when I buy things, two in the last week, I have them delivered to my M-I-L in UK who checks them and then I leave feedback and collect the items when I next visit. This is because things are MUCH dearer on French Ebay.

This is a known glitch at the moment, and has been raised on a number of threads on the ebay discussion boards.

The pinks are investigating, but no official announcement or update on resolution. All that has been suggested is that the seller can instigate a cancellation under the "Buyer requested delivery to a country to which I do not ship".

    Helpful....

    Thank you

I was hoping they were just going to pay and that be the end of it but its looking increasingly likely that they aren't

    Thanks again

Invoice them with your international rate (I use double my UK postage) and send it. Proof of posting insures you to £39.

There is really no greater risk than if it were a UK buyer.

Ditto, just charge extra. I charged £5 for international postage to Germany whereas UK i offer free postage. Go to the post office and it was an extra 50p to send it to Germany (!) Bargain. I chatted to the posty and he had a lady come in and it cost her only an extra 12p to send something abroad :o

just a note in case you do post to canada you have to have the address and return address written specially. It was a while ago but i had to put the return address on the front left hand top corner i think! otherwise canadian customs will refuse it and send it back to you. The details are on the post office website somewhere.
