Bidders from Overseas

Hi all

I've just sold an item and gone to look at the winners details and their address is in Canada, how have they been able to bid when on the listing it clearly says dispatches to UK only and there is no option for anything international?

Do i now need to go through with the sale or can i cancel it?

Thanks

Once they have completed checkout, check on PayPal to see if their address is in the UK or not. If it isn't, offer it to the second highest bidder.

There's info here to block overseas bidders.

If you have allowed them to bid, you should honour the sale.

I know it's harsh but you should have set your preferences to exclude international.

It's doesn't matter a hoot if you say UK only if you don't then set your preferences for it.

That will get a neg in quickly enough

If a seller doesn't set up an auction correctly and exclude the bidders they don't want then they are stuck with a winner. if the original winner pays and just gets their money refunded they can leave a neg, do a non performing seller complaint and the seller gets to pay two lots of FVFs (assuming second chance offer is taken up)

Invoice them with your international rate (I use double my UK postage) and send it. Proof of posting insures you to £39.

There is really no greater risk than if it were a UK buyer.

i had which is why i asked the question how have they been able to bid...as i said before, at the bottom of the listing, under the actual post & packaging options it says dispatches to uk only, even if i drop down the menu to show all available it still says uk only

If you had set them correctly then they couldn't have bid.

FWIW dealing overseas is just as easy as dealing with the UK.
