*!*HIBS*!* wrote:You could be right. Just to clarify we are talking about o2 monthly contract phones right? Well I am. I have seen in the CPW monthly brochures under the o2 tariffs, it says that 0800 is inclusive in your monthly minutes, not sure about the other stores on the high streets (have a browse of their o2 T&Cs instore/online for inclusive minutes or ask them to make positively sure before going ahead). o2 online doesn't charge you as details can be found here in the 9th point: http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk
As the cashback deal is through online (especially if you want to be paid by Qudico) or by phone (where you are not paid to take out contract deals), it's safe to say that 0800 is included in your monthly minutes. Unless you calling outside of your inclusive minutes then there shouldn't be a charge. If you have been charged you should get o2 to compensate you, as I'm quite sure it's not their policy to charge if these calls are taken out of you inclusive monthly minutes. P.S I don't work for and I am not a salesperson for o2.
I work for Phones 4 U and the o2 we sell don't include 0800 in the free minutes so I was just assuming that all hi street retailers would be the same (except possibly cpw as they do their own billing) But then again there are like 70+ different providers for o2 so it would pay to read the T&C's for any o2 deal as I'm sure they would be slightly different in some aspects for different companies0 -
I was assuming that as it's o2 there shouldn't be any difference regarding this point as it the network (o2) who are carrying all the calls. I don't understand how P4U can not offer this as I thought P4U are just a retailer selling the contracts. Anyways that's why when I read your previous post, I included this point(have a browse of their o2 T&Cs instore/online for inclusive minutes or ask them to make positively sure before going ahead)
Jarlawuk, is the 0800 number not included for o2 online transactions as well? Anyway sometimes this number is not as important as the 0845/0870 as the 0800 should still be free from any landlines! Even if they were included in my tariff, I would still opt to ring the 0800 number by a landline because I can save my minutes for dialling the 0870 numbers etc.. which are more expensive than a landline!0 -

Not sure about o2 online but like I said I can only say that P4U o2 definately doesnt
The differences are the different airtime distributors for o2, o2 sell the time to them. They then distribute the airtime to the companies that sell the phones which is what causes the differences in what you get free in your tariff. But usually the differences are very minor. Thats what I found out in my first year in p4u when a computer error labelled me as a online customer even though I bought it in store. Because of that whenever I rang up people got confused as to who's customer services I belonged to and kept passing me around when all I wanted to do was block a lost sim card :mad:0 -
just thought i'd update you and let you know how we got on.
Spoke to OH, who confessed to having his eye on the sony ericcson models, as opposed to the ones that were free to upgrade to. rang o2,and asked for prices - the one he really liked was £100 payment in addition to his contract.
seeing as his birthday is coming up, i offered him the ultimatum of a new playsation, or having the swanky phone - he chose the swanky phone. so i rang o2 again to process the upgrade, and wow - talk about customer service, they were fab :T
because OH had had his old handset for 3 years, they gave us a £20 discount on the handset itself, and have offered us a really good tariff with loads more minutes and free texts for the same price, so longs as he has an 18 month contract rather than a 12 month (not a problem seeing as he will has this one until it dies)
:money::money::money::money:
ordered sunday, and it would have arrived today had the delivery bloke knocked loud enough for someone to actually hear him :rolleyes: for a phone that normally retails for £250 odd quid, OH feels like he's done very well.
i also phoned orange this evening (somehow managed to block my sim :mad: )and again, the customer service was outstanding. they quickly resolved my problems, updated my details, and looked to see if there was a better tariff for me. there wasnt, so he even gave me sneaky tips on how to make the most of what i've got.
fabulous service all round.
once again, i'd just like to thank you all for all the advice and info offered. in the end, it was better for us to stick where we are and keep things simple, but i do feel better for knowing that i've made an informed decision so 3 cheers to all of you :beer: :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
