need to do a bit of money shuffling asap then to book my flights, the flights to tenerife for myself and the kids total 359 for just over a month and found an s/c apartment for two weeks for 350 or half board 1090 then will rent a villa for the remainder i think as oh may not want to slum it:rotfl:
i feel so naughty doing it but getting worn down doing same routine everyday here and fancy a bit of adventure, id love to go to morrocco tbh but not sure for kids as it may be abit too much for them, been reding up on tenerife so weather looks favourable at xmas and no doubt we will make a few friends as my kids seem to magnatise the ol folk:rolleyes:
my only fear is my eldest as she said she wants to go but shes at the teenage, am i bothered stage so hoping she dont decide its boring and want to come home after a day:rotfl:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
I went to Lanzarote over xmas 2008, the weather was mostly fine. I did have a bit of rain but mostly was warm.
The pool wasn't heated so i couldn't go in as it just didn't get enough sun to make it usable.
There was plenty to do on lanzarote with volcano tours, caves, vinyards, beaches etc.
I used www.holidaylettings.co.ukI beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
I can recommend highly recommend a trip to Siam Park, especially if the kids are a bit older...0

What do you do with the children in the UK in the holidays to keep them happy when the weather is bad? Would you be able to do something similar in the canaries?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

xmas in birmingham involves trips on bus to museum etc or cinema, soft playWhat do you do with the children in the UK in the holidays to keep them happy when the weather is bad? Would you be able to do something similar in the canaries?
or otherwise hibernating in house with dvds popcorn and duvets:rotfl:
i did spend two weeks in cyprus in jan and despite a few storms we managed trecking around the archaelogical sites being "treasure hunters" and a few days on the beach digging. the indoor pool was our friend though on rainy days even though i can hardly swim:eek: and got my 3 year old diving on me with his armbands and four year old screeching she was going to drown even if i was holding her with her armbands:rolleyes:
my youngest will be walking by dec so will be a bit easier than carrying her everywhere though tbh she was an angel in cyprus and went everywhere in her pram without any crying at all and was happy just parked up watching the sea etc:rolleyes:
i think in the canaries we will cope as lots of zoo tpe things from what ive read so i can interspace the days with a special outing to stop the bordom and im hoping it wont rain for 4 weeks solid

my kids were bored silly when we were there for 2 weeks because the weather was so unpredictable, we used to look out of the curtains and if it was cloudy go back to bed! TBH I could have come home after one week - but maybe that was because it was our first Xmas away from home. Never again!0

well ive booked my flights 33 days  went for lanzerote in the the end due to better choice of villas with heated pools plus the option of stopping in an all inc hotel for the first two weeks which i amy do till oh joins me so the kids have something to do.
any ino on lanzarote will be gratefully recieved!
the flights had gone up each day so went ahead and booked in the end, i found tenerife to have most of the villas allready booked up and they were very expensive in gran canaria so been emailing a few people at the moment, so long as its got a heated pool for kids and a washing machine for me i dont care:rolleyes:
been reading up on the xmas celebrations which differ from the uk,s so may be novel, id fancied cyprus at xmas as they make a big fuss over it but a change is as good as a rest so they say!

ive found a villa now thats got a pool , hottub and 6 bedsrooms(not that i need all of them) and she quoted me 2000 for the 33days which is the same i was getting quoted for smaller propertys as most seem to boost the price for xmas and new year as its the busiest time:rolleyes:
i have registed my booking under the site is case its not a legit listing as apparently they would give me back any money if i lost it through thier site as otherwise id be completely screwed:eek:
shes only asked for a low deposit as well which is good for me as gives me a litttle time to save funds.
now i need to stash some cash every week , thankfully i normally spend about 800 at least at xmas so that wont be spent so will go towards the holiday:T***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
