Refreshing to know that I'm not the only one who does stupid things:
pays for shopping and leaves shop without it
Go to bank -leave cash withdrawal on counter
Collect pension -leave card on counter then panic the next week when I can't find it (I'm not the only one -P.O. girl had to sift through quite a few to find mine.............lol)

Thats without the usual going upstairs and forgetting what for.........making lists and forgetting where they are etc. etc.:rotfl:

That reminds me of the slogan on a TOGS (Terry's Old Geezers (Radio2)) t-shirt

    Do I come here often?

    Evening Ladies

Just finished a basket for son's GF, have put pics on the Finished Baskets part 2 thread if anyone wants a look. Total cost of the bits in the basket came to £6.28 so very peased with myself.

Catch you later, back to my knitting xx

Can you believe that I was the one plugging the QVC crafting day and didn't get to watch any of it, other than at midnight?! I've taped it so will have to catch up.

Mary - you will be proud, look at all this I got today from a charity shop for 9.99:

    pic3.jpg

A Flower Fairies photo album for 1.25
A cupcake trinket pot for 2.99
A Rimmel nail varnish and hairclip set for 1.75
A birthday card book for 1.75
A card making set for 2.25

When I paid, the woman said "I hope these aren't Christmas presents already!" Can you believe it?! I said, "Well actually they are!" She didn't reply.

I am going to keep the card making set and the flower fairies photo album though

    Hello all !
Been out trying to get bits for MIL's 'tea-time' basket for her birthday.
    So far:
    2 crossword books
book of quotes 'what my mother used to say'
    packet shortbread
    packet chocolate cookies
Tin English Breakfast tea (tea bags as she prefers them)
    tea cup cross stitch coaster
    China mug

It's all looking a bit 'boring' and don't know what I can do to liven it up.
She's 89 and can't get about much since replacement hip.

Valli - me and OH always 'wake up to wogan'.............love it...........:rotfl:
Not yet got the t-shirt though.

Lucy - what a brilliant lot you've found there.(turning green).........I did my trawl round ours this morning and came back with a foam jigsaw thing for grandson and a 'make your own stick puppets' kit - be good 'joke' pressie for sons girlfriend..............lol
Was starting to get bored by them so came home and messed about trying to arrange MIL''s stuff in some sort of 'interesting' way...........think its all lacking a bit in colour but not sure what to add that she'd like.

paddington - thanks..........I tried that and it didn't look right so in the end I put all the tea bits in a shoe box I'd covered in a pretty fabric -was going to keep the box for myself and secretly hoping MIL will give me it back..............:rotfl:
Anyway, it solves the problem. The box looks pretty with flowers on and by the time I've tied it with ribbon it'll look better than it is:j
