    Hi Mel,

I've never heard of hair stripping, a new one on me. You asked about my crafts

My speciality used to be crochet - but virtually stopped now except for making decrations and cards when I use raffia or gold thread. as I really overdid it and got rsi and as my email address is 'crochet in my sleep' so you can see how addicted I was!

I was always into miniature modelling too, especially dolls houses and room boxes. These are packed away now as I find them too distracting as I always want to make something when I look at them and this year I want to get organised.

Apart from that I also used to do a lot of cross stitch squares for charity, but again I've stopped that as all my crafts got really out of hand, so now just doing a variety of different ones for decorations (plastic canvas, pinflair, felt, beads etc) and a few cards as I can't catch up with everything.

Ultimately I want to stop all the crafts except for embroidery (I've got tablecloth UFO's) which I'm looking forward to but never find the time.

    Xmas Saver!
Bit late - but here goes

    Fav memory 2008
Haveing dd get better, she had slapped cheek syndrome just before the end of xmas term, and she nearly ended up in hospitla, literally 1/2 degree between her going into hospital or stay at home. She came out of the contagiuos period on xmas Eve

Haveing Xmas lunch in pub, as first proper meal dd had eat in nearly a week.

Also not haveing the twa!s next door

    Went well
Being together just the four of us, (mum, dad, me + dd and Whisky),

    Any activities not enjoyed
    Nothing really, quiet xmas,

Anything missing u would like to bring back
    Dont think so,

    What would you do differently
Not meant to sound mean, but vut back on dd presents, she didnt want any main presents, so I got a lot of odds and sods and ds games etc, maybe look at something main and a few smaller presents.

    Plans this year - differently
Booked panto for christmas eve afternoon

get more organised with family presents, concentrated on everyone elses, and got in such a muddle whilst doig ours - stilll doing stockings xmas eve - we will get them done earlier

Going on the Orient Express 21st Dec - Xmas lunch going with Aunt

After the scare with mum, intend to make xmas less stressful for her, takeing over control of everything, she wont have to worry.

    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Re hair dyes: I have pathetic hair, used to be really vibrant and shiny and would grow long but now gets to a certain length about chin length and then goes all limp and won't do what it is supposed to do.
My hairdresser has told me do Not put a colour in it,your hair can't take it.........so what did I do when I was at my sisters 4 weeks ago.....put a colour in it. I have ,naturally, very dark drown hair , and a few grey strands in the last 2 years, when I say a few, i mean a few but they annoy me. So the bold Mhags buys a hair dye in the strange asda whilst doing a horrific shop for her poorly sister.....ever money saving buys the one with money off!...goes back and dyes hair......see some hair going down plughole but not worried at that point..........drys hair, still looking good, wee bit shine most of grey hair covered.....home a few days later, OMG:
What was a full length bob has differing lengths on the top layer, a bit of my fringe has a bit missing, I could cry over my vanity! What were a few grey hairs compared to this. I know I should go and see my hairdresser to see what she can do but dread her rage!!! ....or her pity! I am making do with clasps!! For the young person in me....!

Hope you all have a good day. Our kids finish school today until next Tuesday, so no mad morning rush for next few days.

    Morning!
Great plan plm - I'm looking at having the bags done for the beginning of November - unfortunately the local council fayre has a waiting list but will contact them later in the year once I have some stock to put my name on the list for a cancellation - I think the council that I work for has one but don't fancy being outside in November - lol!

Will keep my eyes peeled - I know the pre school has a tabletop sale near to xmas. DD's school only does stall for themselves unfortunately :o.

Tried something different with the last couple - will take some pics later once they are stitched up :D
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

welcome back sarah - I wondered where you were - mentioned it on the last thread xx:T

welcome to valli - have you looked at www.organizedchristmas.com yet:T

Julie - I looooovvve your stuff - love the butterflies idea for the babygro's - fantastic and the jars of socks are so cute :T

Right - I just got back from the M&S penny bazaar. I got a tea towel, the ladies scarf, the ladies purse, a brooch and cufflinks. All for 5p. So dad's getting the cufflinks on fathers day, I may give the purse and scarf together to my cousin and the brooch to my aunt. I am keeping the tea towel for myself! But I may try it again on friday as I think it's on for 3 days. Don't know if they'll run out of stock or if they'll keep some stock back for each day!!?? But I'm glad cos that saves me about 15pounds worth of presents I would have had to buy. As I normally spend 5 to 10pounds on my cousin and a fiver on my aunt. :T

I am organised for my friends birthday tomorrow -all her pressies are wrapped and I'm scraplifting a card for her tonight off mel's blog x so save a couple of quid on a card there.

Hello all = I keep looking at the sky and wondering how long before I have to rush out and get the washing in if and when it rains...........again !

Valli - Hi and thanks for the Copydex tip. I'll get some either tomorrow or Friday and that'll sort my weekends 'crafting' out.

jamtart - I ordered the John Lewis samples at the weekend and they arrived Monday -super size and good quality.
I had some more today I'd seen on the freebie board........much smaller but ideal for cards
