18 portions of cake for £1.63?? wow! i need to go there at different times to get better deals i think!
have you ever had any of that pizza bread thing they do? i often find it for about 50p in the tesco here and it only needs 6 minutes to cook and tastes really good! there's enough of it for about 6 slices usually.

I nip off for a day and you go all pink on me :p - think I saw feather boas in the pound shop.
They did have pink glittery photo frames in home bargains for 39p each but that was a while ago.
3 pink bath bombs in a yoghurt pot would look like an ice cream  they had them in the pound shop last week

Think I'll stick to me knitting - 1 more bag done ****coughs to go :o

    Hello all

Not just AOL playing up..........I'm finding everything oh so slow...........in fact did yesterday too.

Not much to say except been out, two more shoe boxes to cover but if I choose to cover them with material I haven't got the glue.........if I want to use paper........well havent got any of that either  Daft me for not being more organised.

Trying to set deadline for christmas stuff being sorted by end of August (said that last year and I was still flapping around in November !)
Other 'stuff' seems to keep getting in the way.

Oh -whats the best glue to use to stick fabric to cardboard ? Want to have a go and may start with a notebook but don't want to get the wrong stuff.

Hi hope you don't mind me sticking my oar in (not REALLY a crafter but trying to be organised for xmas) I would use copydex which I find best for fabric as it's flexible (very good for sticking nametapes into footwear)
anyway since I've come out of lurkdom I thought you might like to know that I have a fancy rack of 3 jam jars (this is a re-use) and have already made marmalade and rhubarb and ginger jam. The third jar will be either bramble jelly or blackcurrant jam and that will be a gift for my darling ma and pa.
I also have 7 presents bought (stocking fillers) for DD and DS and have 6 wrapped. Tags are numbered and identified on a spreadsheet in case I forget what they are.
The seventh has just been bought (a cheappie DVD rom com) so not yet wrapped. The wrapping is because LAST year they searched - so I shall thwart them. They are teenies BTW :rotfl:
Not all presents are bought 'new' One I have this year is a Friends .companion bought from Oxfam - was £15.99 new but £2.99 in there. But I am a single mum and work so need to be organised. I hope that's ok? (That I read and post?)

Hi all, loads of posts in the last few minutes since I looked. Hi Valli, I've never had ginger jam sounds interesting.

JordanShannon -stoozing, you have to keep your eye on the ball with that as you are opening new accounts in banks and also new credit card accounts and switching money across backwards and forwards closing the accounts then getting new ones.

If you forget what you are doing, it will get expensive for you and end up losing money.I didn't want to try it for that reason, especially if I lost computer access or got ill etc..

I said I wouldn't do this no more but I just got to this once as you have all said such awesome things!! LOL

JS I would be careful with stoozing if you love to spend. It's so easy to take out a card and think you will be sensible but spend big on a bargain and think you can easily pay it back.. and then you lose your job or you bury your head in the sand. If you want more advice on it I should think a post in their section might get you a few snotty remarks but then a nice one that will help you out. Let me know how it goes JS :D OHHH and my hair dresser said NEVER have hair stripping. I dyed my hair black and it would take forever for me to grow mine out (it's waist length) so I wanted it stripped and she said it basically would ruin your hair and make it so weak that if you ever used heat or dye on it again it would literally break apart in your hands. She gave me a new hair cut that made the regrowth completely disappear (like.. layers and feathering) then suggested I used a temporary hair dye on the roots that contained no ammonia until the hair dye eventually grows out and if I keep on top of cuts it will grow faster. HTH xx

Agent Mhaglet and Mhags I see you have succeeded in your everyday task of aquiring amazing bargains. You have completed your mission of making me incredibly jealous and I hope you enjoy all your food. Re:Tortilla wraps - have you ever tried making qaesidillas before? my kids love them!! P.S i LOVE your grid idea.. you're a genius!!

Rusty it's great to see you about again as bright as ever .. you don't need the bulb :D:D

Freebie Rocker I want pizza now lol did you ever sort out the money your brother stole from you!!?

Paddy I saw earlier about you selling your bags but forgot to comment on it DUH Well done on selling them that is BRILLIANT!! Do you have a date for your fayre yet? or a round about day? You could then work out how many a week you need to make to get on target and feel great when you make more then your weekly target :D

valli Hiya!! It's great to have you here on the thread and I hope you will stay. Your post was of course OK and you can post anything here.. we are all friends!! :D I love all of your gift ideas and I think there are some brilliant bargains there. If you don't buy things from Oxfam (which lets face it.. are as good as new these days) then it will go to landfill and charities will lose money. I love finding bargains!!

Anglea Thanks for all of your ideas lately they have been brilliant. I have seen you about on the other threads.. do you have any crafts that are your speciality?

You reckon? the bulb is the only thing lighting me up at the minute! Real life is horrible so have been trying to hide from it by being on here ... still not working so giving up with it all.

    Take care all xxx

    Hey guys,
    Hope you are all OK!

Just saw THIS post and thought it might be useful for some of you crafty types. Basically free John Lewis swatches of material. The OP seems to think there is a fair amount of material too. Will update as and when I receive mine :)
