Hi, I have a virgin payg mobile. I was watching 'tonight' with martin lewis this week and he said if you have old numbers registered with the company, that will affect your credit score. I have a regular number that is registered and use it daily, I also have two or the sim card registered with them on my file whick I still have the sims but dont use them and they all have no credit on them, do you think those sims registered would affect my credit score?, should I leave them or have Virgin take them off?.

If you are worried about credit rating - you might want to find out what your credit report says first - £2 last I looked to get a copy.

Secondly if then you find something about your old sim cards in there - you could contact Virgin and ask them to stop the sims - mind you if they are old sim cards they should automatically time out (I thought) if you do not top up.

Alternatively just call Virgin to find details of the all sim cards and remove before doing the above.

Not sure why old sim cards should affect credit rating!

Sorry but I fail to see how PAYG would affect your credit rating? As far as I know this only affects contracts where regular payments are required where they can monitor your effectiveness to pay on time. On PAYG you top up when you need to use it, if you don't use it after 6 months the sim is automatically deactivated.
