A couple of quick updates to the Guide.

    Firstly, a sad update...

Comps.PickMeUpMagazine.co.uk (Care: the magazine comps seem to be unaffected, but any comps which direct to this site are now run by a data collecting company Data Media & Research Ltd)

The above has been added to the list of spam websites to be aware of. :(

Secondly, I've updated the Getting Started II section for the:

9 Can I enter the radio station / newspaper comps on more than one of the radio station / newspaper websites?
The radio stations have had a major change in their Terms & Conditions. There now appears to be restrictions in place about entering comps on one site only & also a clause to stop you winning again within a certain timescale if you had a win over a specific value. Compers report though, that these rules seem to be in flux & changing every few weeks. Please check the T & C before you enter to clarify exactly what the current rules are before you at that time!

CARE: some newspaper comps can only entered once across the whole group, the OP will give mention this if they know this to be the case.
PLEASE NOTE: Sport Magazine / My Freesport - you cannot enter from both websites as they are one magazine (Another Comper emailed to check this one out).

Thanks for your help with the information on these. If you know anything else then please drop me a private message or add a post to the Comping Guide thread or the Discussion thread :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Hi Lisa. Welcome! Your post will probably get moved to the discussion thread, so if you can't find it later, that's where it will be!

If you look in the regular comps thread (at top of page, under the I won, I won, I won and game over threads). There are some daily comps listed, and some are instant wins.

The Gu chocs and Dorset cereals are instant spin to wins, but there's some others too. Vodkat cocktail kits is instant win, and the ZSL zoo trumps cards too.

    Good luck!! Liz

I thought I'd pop in here and make a suggestion with regards to some discussion that took place about 3 or 4 pages back on this thread (I'm a bit late to that discussion sorry!!!).

There was concern raised that competition organisers may "ignore" entries that have been made via MSE or other competition sites. With firefox you can download an Add-on called RefControl (an MSE comper recommended it last year - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/953). You can control what reference information is sent from Firefox when you click on a link (you just right click on the link and it presents you with several options for that domain). I hope this is useful for someone!

    Thanks Kisto.

what kind of ref options do you get please? And is it easy to use with snaplinks?
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

Kisto, I love it, xxxx huge thanks.

I have set the default to Forge and am back to snaplinking away, instead of dragging to the bar now.

Just a slight word of warning if you decide to use RefControl

sometimes you will need to send the actual referral links as some competition forms will not work if the proper referral links are not sent (I.E) some competitions require that you click on multiple pages to enter the competition and they need the actual referral links

I used to use RefControl myself but decided to stop using it because it caused quite a few problems with some of the competition sites :(

For the last few days, I've not been able to view ANY £20 or £100 draws on Scramble...is it the same for everyone? Going to DM them via Twitter otherwise...

EDIT: JUST READ BACK...I UNDERSTAND NOW.
