e2save chequeback weasels
Can anyone help me get my money out of e2save?
I sent off for my first chequeback with my October bill but got nothing back. I then called them and was told it can take several weeks to receive the cheque. Weeks later (January) and eventually managed to speak to someone who advised as I hadn't sent the bill recorded and they have no recordof receiving it it wasn't their problem etc etc. Eventually after explaining no-one said anything about requiring recorded delivery when I took out the contract they advised me to fax through my bill and they would sort it out and it would take several weeks for the cheque to get to me.
Now As I'm due to send my February bill off (after waiting 4 days for them to respond to my website request about what's happening with my previous claim) I got through to someone after 36 minutes on the phone to be told they refused my previous claim as it was too late.
I have found numerous others who have experienced similar problems.
e2save deny receiving a claim (ok so the post isn't what it used to be) but then they then fob you off with a 'wait a little while longer attitude'
Then it's send us another copy
Then they tell you 'get stuffed you were too late'
I've upheld my end by sending bills in but they're doing eveything possible to weasel out of paying. Is there anything that can be done about this? This is my second contract with them and it s far cry from the customer support I received with my first one. It's definitely going to be my last.
Anyone found a way to get these scumbags to pay up?

TBH mate, I have never had a problem with E2Save, they are one of the better companies I have dealt with.
I always send my bills SPECIAL delivery, costs about £3.50 but at the end of the day, that bill is woth £100 or more to you in cashback so while I sympathise with you, you only have yourself to blame.
More bad news possibly - I seem to remember a clause somewhere that said if you forget (don't) to claim one cash back then you can no longer claim all subsequent cashbacks. I read this on the T&C's of my old contract so may not be relevant any more but might be worth checking out. If it still applies then you have just kissed goodbye to ALL of your cashback claims!

i got a contract from them, around the same time as you it seems. everything has been fine!!
i do however, always send my cashbacks through special delivery, which is expensive (almost £5) but after readign everybodys replies about cashabcks, its worth it!!!!!
save yourself the hassle, and gaurantee your going to get something, or at least have a finger to point. by not covering your back, youve left yourself a little open im afraid, if it was me, id go mental, probably drive to loughborugh and demand the cheque in person!!!
id never give it up, and usually your persistance will pay off (just becuase they want to get rid of you!!)
good luck mate0 -
Hi,
I've had two chequebacks with no problems from E2Save, Just sent a copy of my bill with the voucher & a covering letter recorded delivery as suggested within a few days of getting the bill both cheques arrived with a month of posting..
However I've got a work collegue that has had issues with getting promised "price/deal" match cashbacks & accessories.. He just kept on chasing them until they sent him the stuff.. I'm pretty sure he managed to find a non 087 number to call them on and just made a pain of himself, which seemed to work..
I'd have to say E2Save's rules for the chequeback offer do seem to have been drawn up to make it an effort to apply it time.... I wonder why!!!0 -
I always send my bill regular first class.
Is it not possible for you to print off a copy from the internet? Which network are you wth?"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
recorded delivery does the same job as special delivery (you can't claim any compensation if it gets lost with either). ITs just the signature that you need to confirm they've received it. Ok so special delivery is supposed to be more reliable but if your recorded delivery did get lost you can check and send another.0

It says in T&C that you can. Well, my one does anyway.0 -
Do you send by recorded delivery or just plain 1st class?CharleneUK wrote:I always send my bill regular first class.
Yes I agree about recorded and special delivery. Special Delivery is guaranteed to arrive next day before 1pm or whichever option you decided to pay for, both still requiring a signature to confirm receipt at the other end. Sometimes companies dealing with cashbacks just require you to photocopy/email the recorded/special delivery other part of the stub/sticker if the original mail does get lost in the post and will honour your cashback as you have the proof of posting.Darren21 wrote:recorded delivery does the same job as special delivery (you can't claim any compensation if it gets lost with either). The other proof of posting where you can get a card stamped may not necessarily be accepted as its not one of their paid for service by the RM so it can't be traced by RM.
On another money saving note, for those opting to pay for SD are reducing the amount of profit gained from taking up deals where you are paid to take contracts out.
With e2save they are bit more relaxed and willing to pay out. From their current T&Cs that I got it says
This can also be found on the cashback form that can be downloaded from their site! :jIf you forget to claim for one of the payments, you may still claim for any that are remaining.0 -
I've had the EXACT same thing with Themobs.com, only I've been told that it tough, nothing I can do now - and they owe me £150. Weasels indeed!0

I would suggest that you put your complaint in writing, worded as though they have failed to honour the contract, and include a copy of the bill in question.
Let them know that you are prepared to take legal action to recover these funds, and that this is their opportunity to settle out of court.
Give them 14 days to reply. If you don't get the answer you want in that time,I would issue a court claim online.
Send your details to the CarPhoneWarehouse head office legal department...

If it requires online court action, I'm more then happy to guide you through the very simple process.0
