OS Daily thread - Sunday 10th May

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 10th May. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning OS chums!

Ravy - I just started watching The Guardian too - can't decide if he made it before the Mentalist or before but I think he looks marginally younger so guessing before.
Sunnygirl - still thinking of you and your dad
Teresita -
just for you!
Sistercas - Yes tokens received thank you very very much, I thought I pmed you, am sooo sorry if I didn't! xx
Mrs MW - Oh yes I would, thank you - I will pm with my address
Mioliere - good to have you posting regularly again, we missed you.
Pen-Pen - congrats to your son!
smokybabe and cranky and halight - Thinking of you.
No sign of Tristan. His emails have been a lot shorter this week which usually means he isn't doing so well. But I am up early this morning and will get on with sorting through my back log of emails just in case he logs on today.
Had a delicious roast dinner last night with the leftover yellow stickered chicken. I have to admit my OH makes the best roast potatoes ever! We had it with roasted veg and steamed brussel sprouts as I love them. We decided to eat our roast yesterday as if the weather is as nice today as it was yesterday, we intend to spend as long as poss in the garden so don't want to be in the kitchen. I didn't get out today, the day ran away with us.
Need to tidy up my desk at some point - I have piles upon piles upon piles and can't find anything! If it ends up not being garden weather today I guess I will have to tackle it, but right now procrastination is my friend!
Ok.. well I need a mug of redbush and my OH managed to get some peaches cheaply from Morrisons so am going to have a couple of those for breakfast, so better go and put the kettle on before I settle back on the computer and wait for Tris.
I hope everyone has a peaceful and restful Sunday. Warm gentle
for anyone who wants or needs one.

Morning everyone.
Clear blue skies here at the moment but watching BBC weather just weatherman was mentioning cloud. Why is it sooooooo nice soooooooo early!!
Have a nice large chicken to roast for dinner today, might go and bung it on in a minute whilst the kids are fairly happy.
Spend most of yesterday afternoon on my hands and knees scraping out moss from my block paving. Needless to say feel cream crackered this morning (but have been awake from 5am so that might not helo LOL!). Got a little but more weeding and moss to get up so will try and get that done today as it looks much nicer now I've tidied it up. Running low on baking as my friends on Friday devoured a good bit of the stuff I'd baked Friday morning for them. Might have a nose at my receipe books and see what other treats I can make.
Have a good Sunday everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning Everyone
After the joyous celebrations of Burnleys victory over Reading last night today is liable to be a little disappointing. But hey you have to get on with it.MD is off to church today for the Procession of Our Lady so I need to nip to Tescos for some flowers for her to take.OH is working all day so I've made him a chicken salad to take with him for lunch and he's just had sausages and eggs for his brekkie so thats him sorted.I've a mountainous pile of ironing to tackle in a moment :mad:I loathe ironing but it keeps happening.Washing is pretty much up to date just one load to hang out if its dry enough if not it can go on the airer.
Diva-Hope the weather is nice enough to spend the day in the garden as it sounds more fun than being in the house cooking. If Tristan hasnt got in touch he must be feeling rough
Pen-pen congratulations to your son
DD&D-Unless I've missed your posts you've gone AWOL again with your FIL's ill health I hope nothing awful has happened with either him or the kids. Please post to put my mind at rest

Morning all - been awol for a week or so - nothing major - just getting used to new job including horendous journey
Nothing OS toreport either. I'm bussing to work at the moment and there are no shops nearby so i really need to meal plan properly. I have made a list for this week and just need to get the time to get to the shops today.
dd(19) and i have been playing KidSwap this weekend - she's taken dd(12) to a festival in town and i have dgs(4) - he's still sleeping so I'll have a mini-blitz this morning and then we're off to look for a geocache in the local nature reserve. After that we're all meeting up for a Birthday Meal (don't get excited - bday was in April but i just haven't had the time) and then i'm going to have a practice run at cycling the 10k to w*rk - yikes! - guess i'm not getting to the shops then - sigh
have a lovely day

Morning everyone :hello:
Despite the opportunity for a long lie this morning I have been up since six. Just pottering in the garden and reading my book but I will be wrecked later.
Have 1001 jobs to do so will get on with a few of those before everyone else is up.
washing
iron uniforms
put bread dough on for rolls
Make tuna paste for sandwiches
prepare roast beef
quick shop for salad stuff
walk dog
bath kids
plant up 2 more hanging baskets
clean leaves from decking
earth up spuds
sew badges on Brownie uniforms
supervise homework
organise paperwork to take into office tommorrow
general tidy up. Hoover living room
polish living room
tidy my bedroom
change spare bedroom bed.
There. That looks much more organised.
The sun is actually out :eek:and if it lasts I will probably abandon all of the above to potter in the garden.:o
Tea is a huge topside of beef but I'm just doing it with salad, mash and roast veg so not too time consuming.
I have a glut of rhubarb so need to go and read the rhubarb thread for some inspiration.
Nice to see you Stef. Don't cycle too hard.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning
The sun is shining here too at the moment so priority will be weeding, earthing up spuds and planting more salad leaves.
Apart from that will do usual Sunday tasks ready for the week ahead - ironing, cooking for packed lunches, and have some paperwork to do for work tomorrow (will do that in the garden with a cup of coffee:)). Also want to start decluttering ready for a car boot sale in the next few weeks.
Have a good day all, will catch up later

Good Morning All
Hiya Stef :hello: Glad to see the new job is OK
MSD - hope you from Tristan soon.
Haribo - your list resembles the one I have in head at the moment, not sure if half will get done though.
It is a beautiful start to the day here today, OH is already in the garden finishing the staining and needless to say I have a load in the wm. Have some ironing I should get done sometime today.
DS is at a sleepover (his friend who stayed Fri night) and DD likes her lie ins so is very pleaceful at the moment.
Have M&S half price Oakham chicken I got some time ago for dinner, with sausagemeat stuffing and all the normal trimmings. Will freeze the leftovers for later in the week.
Promised to take DD to see Hannah Montanna today, not looking forward to it but she absolutely loves her. Oh well will get a nice coffee while I am there.
Not sure if I will get any baking done today, I must put some stuff on ebay to boost the funds so that is priority.
Off now, have a lovely Sunday.

Morning all
Lovely & sunny here at the moment, I think we'll be spending the day in the garden. I have some tiny shrubs in pots & we're moving them to the front, hopefully it will stop the local cats using my front flower bed as a toilet. Apart from that today's plans are mainly to do housework, what joy.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

It's raining here, so no gardening today. I have to take dh to the station at 11am to catch the London train. He's going to Portsmouth for the week on a course.
It's not worth starting much before then, but this afternoon I will tidy up, hoover, do the ironing, do ds's homework with him (we have to make a farm animal mask!), and maybe make some biscuits if we have time.
Take care all of you0
