New generation Iphone?

Hi all,

Orange contract is nearing its end and am thinking about joining the Iphone masses!!

Have heard various rumours though that they are releasing a new model sometime soon. Does anyone know if this is true or not? And if so, will they be the same price as they are now, or more expensive?

Any help would be really appreciated as I don't want to buy one now, only for it to be out of date next month!!

rumours are a new model , and possibly Orange having it as well as O2's exclusive period is up

I would love to see the Iphone on 3, people give them a lot of stick but imo they are the only network that is in a true position to take these sort of technologies forward.

iPhone v3 will be out in June/July (announced at the WWDC first week of June).

O2 still have exclusivity till 2010 so won't be going to a new network, however Orange will be offering a "free" macbook as part of their mobile internet deals from July.

Rumours are the O2 will up the price of the contracts to heavily subsides the new phones. Or you could get an unlocked one and use it on Orange (like I do)

Which sim free contract do you use on the iphone, does everything work fine like the apps/virtual voicemail?

I have been thinking of doing the same by trying to add a web bolt on with my standard cpw o2 contract and getting an unlocked fone, but the fone off ebay is 300 pounds + on top of the contract 25-30, so it just makes sense to buy it from O2 with a free phone and 35p/m 18 months,

how can it have been announced 1st week of june when its still may?

its only rumored there will be a new iphone and it will probably be more expensive than the current model in the sense of purchase price not tarrif price

3 are the WORST contract providers an if iphone go with them they will loose so much money, i have a 3g iphone an think its great! 3's sofware is not compatible with most handsets which is why there always being repaired or needing more software updates than any other network provider! 3 is ofcoms nightmare as far as mobiles go!

I don't have a SIM only deal. My contract with Orange runs for another 12 months, but I didn't want to move to O2 as I get far better deal on Orange, even with paying the £300 for the phone. Then I sold the Nokia they gave me for free for £250 so only paid £50 for the phone.

I get 1200mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data for £30 compared to the terrible iPhone deals on O2. Virtual Voicemail is only on O2 and isn't really worth it to be honest. All apps work fine on an unlocked phone, the only thing you get on O2 is VV and that's it.

I meant it's going to be announced at the WWDC in June. You say they are rumours, but it's 95% sure that a new phone will released.

The new iPhone was cheaper than the original iPhone. I would say that the next phone would be the same price or cheaper.

1. Opinion. Just as many people moan about o2 and Vodafone.

2. What are you talking about? The phone makers (eg Nokia) make the phones firmware or are you talking about 3 applications such as Skype? If so, why should they give you free software to work on other phones? It seems they have more business sense than you...

im talkin about the software thats added an its what i was told by the manager of my local 3 store when i asked why my phone had to keep being sent of for a software update at least once every 6 weeks!

they said that the software they use replaces the current phones software an usually its not completely compatable and causes alot of problems (i only found this out after my phone bein with them more than it was with me!)
