What happened with HandBrake?
Did you select the PS3 preset?
yeah, i clicked on ps3 on the right and the settings changed for it. i then converted the clip. it would not play in any player and the ps3 didnt see it. when looking in the properties it said it was mp4 so it is a mystery to me why it didnt work. there must be something else that has to be done. it isnt very user friendly compared to other converters.
someone on the ps forums suggested something called ps3 video 9 and that was worse. it kept having script errors so i didnt even get as far as converting on that one.0 -
What are you trying to convert?
Your video file is the only constant here. I think rather than all these programs being useless, it's more likely your file is messed up.
(and I don't see how HandBrake "isn't very user friendly"; you choose a preset and click start; it then starts)0 -
the clips are flv files and according to the ps3 manual only mp4 video clips can be played on it. there isnt anything wrong with the clips because they wouldnt play at all if there was. anyway most clips have converted ok it was just the odd one that was playing too fast after conversion. all of them wouldnt work after conversion with handbrake.
its not user friendly because it is full of things that can be used that most people wont know about. i also had problems working out how to set the output folder. it seems i had to click on something somewhere i cant remember what.0 -

Are these YouTube flv files?
If so, you can download mp4 files directly from YouTube using this method. There's no need to download flv files and convert them to mp4.ts not user friendly because it is full of things that can be used that most people wont know about.
That's why it has presets.i also had problems working out how to set the output folder. it seems i had to click on something somewhere i cant remember what.
