That is a decent post NID, well done mate!

So basically any info (including past arrears on settled/defaulted accounts) should only be 6 years old or LESS. Thanks NID for clearing that up!

Brilliant about Shelfstacker's post on other thread of his description about A&L - absolutely fantastic!! It does ring true for many organisations in this dumping ground UK LOL!!

Glad to be of help - could see you were going off track and thought i'd stop you going to the races with a crash helmet on :rotfl:

Yes mate only on defaulted/settled accounts. If it was live and in arrears then the data stays on insight things for extra 3yrs but its irrelevant as lenders only have capabilities to search back 6yrs...... only a small minority of people have data 6 + years on their files mate - banks dont even look at it.

Post link to SS post please?

Sorry to tag on here rather than starting a new thread - if I'm wrong to do so pls tell me.

I got my free Experian credit check yesterday - submit card details and they give it.

They don't explain much on their website. Anyway, I applied for a ccard last summer at about ten places. Got declined. However, applied at Royal Sun and Liecester and they wracked up 45 searches including several on the same days in a period over three months. I don't understand.

Was this some computer fault? I know some companies own others but I defo only applied for ten cc's max.

Applied for an overdraft with bank yesterday and they turned me down yet my credit check showed only one missed payment (an accident, not that it matters does it), and four other credit accounts paid in full or up to date.

My question is - Do all those Royal Sun checks matter? I know you said they don't but it looked odd to me. If not, why are they on there?
:D Thank you to all who contribute to all of this super site:smileyhea !

Previous searches drop off after a year so i'd wait til they drop off (presumably this summer) and then apply for one card. It'd take longer to get them removed than their natural drop-off date so i'd just waita couple of months....
