credit score - b-l-s-h-t

I have had 14 searches on my credit report in the past 3 months and 24 in the past 12months and yes it is naughty having that many.
and i have applied mainly for credit cards and have recieved quite a few NO NO'S.
But today i ordered my credit score from experian and it said 890 there is no way that can be right with the amount of declines i have had.
are these reports even up to date because i thought my score would be about 600?
also do them searches stay on forever or how long till they go!

Please ignore this score - it means nothing in the great scheme of things. Totally irrelevant!

Your searches are quite high but I have over 185 and got a gold card last month! Well, last month I only had 100 searches LOL

Don't worry, just hold fire as the last 6mths are the most important so be good til it shows searches in last 6mths as 5 or less.....

ignore these silly scores - they are useless and so wrong they should be banned as misleading! Searches stay for 1yr and then drop off.

The score means nothing. Just a way for the CRA's to make more money out of you.
Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
    Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
    ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:

It is a complete waste of money. But out of interest, what was the basis/reasons given by experian for this score? i.e. they normally give some notes to explain reasoning of their score.

It is extremely bizarre cos i have 4 searches in the last 6 months; on the electoral roll for last 2 yrs at current; all payments up to date, no markers etc; opened 2 loan, 1 credit and a bank account in the last months, yet they score me 680??
They claim lenders prefer 3 yrs on electoral at current address. Also claim i have too many accounts???? 11 in total with one settled. Didnt think this was much.
Like i said it is a waste and complete rubbish

Yep it is literally a scam! It is sad some people accept things as face value and believe everything the CRA's tell them about their credit rating!

I only need to give an example of the martin's programme last night. A guy got bankrupt but he somehow got a high APR credit card and after the bankrupty notice has been removed from his credit file (after6 years), his score is 999....absolutely fxxking bxxxcks!

I know credit applications like mortgages will ask if you EVER been bankrupt.... if the person has been bankrupt a long time ago, how will the lender find out his credit history past if his credit files are clean??
