Cancelling Orange contracts - they don't work at weekends!

I've just rung Orange to cancel my 2 contracts I have with them. One ends on the 21st June, the other the 27th. The guy I spoke to said that because both of these days fall on a weekend, the contracts won't be cancelled until the following Monday, so the 22nd and 29th respectively. Is it just me or does this sound very very wrong to anyone else? I'm contracted to be with them for only 12 months, and it is not my problem they don't work on weekends. I would expect my contracts to end on 21st and 27th regardless of whether these dates fall on a weekend or not. Has anyone else got any thoughts on this? Are they even permitted to do this?!
Thanks,
Michael.

If you read the terms and conditions of your contract you need to give 30 days notice regardless of when it ends, So for it to end on 21st June, You would have to put in notice on the 21st May, Ect Ect. Maybe its just that way the system is setup.0

I've already given notice, so it's more than 30 days until the end of each contract. However, they are both still ending on the Monday following the weekend, rather than on the day that is exactly 12 months after they started.
Just spoken to Orange again, and the cancellations have been brought forward to the Friday prior to the dates they should end. So the one that ends the 21st is ending on the 19th, and the one ending on the 27th is ending on the 26th. He agreed entirely that I shouldn't be expected to pay for more than the minimum 12 months, so Orange will have to swallow the 3 days of lost line rental by the contracts ending earlier rather than later.0 -
So - they should be getting a pat on the back, rather than shouted at, surely?0

I will shout. They don't tell you at the time you call to give notice that it won't be disconnected when it should. You only find that out later when you check. It's normal with them.0
