It is still what we call a Connect Electronic, as in it does not offer any cheque guarantee functions and shouldn't (in theory) allow you to spend money that you do not have.

You can still distinguish between a regular Connect Card and Connect Electronic as it does not bare any Cheque Guarantee stamp/hologram which a fully fledged Connect Card would.

Added to that, the Connect Electronic card is not a credit scored product. Anyone who has a Cash Card account can have one :) .

Not so anymore mate, cheque cards are issued on status - but you're right in that electron was for electronic use and doesn't let you spend what you don't have (its called full authorisation).

Chip & Pin means all debit cards are, in theory, full auth. dya follow?

Only difference is a visa debit for cashcard means you can't spend on offline terminals such as on a plane, on a train or at tesco pay & petrol pump.
