  • OP, I don't mean to sound nasty but I wonder whether you're one of those people who moans about how dishonest people are nowadays? It isn't yours so hand it in.

Cant believe you've got the nerve to post such a question OP.

You are stealing from another human being, ok?

I have to agree with ipodchick here- I used to work for an online store who had similar voucher cards too. Once its registered online, the company can pull back the money from you if for example you spent it online.

If they feel it was a theft they want to look into, look on their systems and say exactly where and when the voucher was spent and what time, what till point, even which member of staff served you. They can then use CCTV to find you.

All that would need to happen is for the card owner to call up customer services and quote their name and address to pull up the card details, then its all on-screen. These details then go back to the store manager (and any security if needs be) who can look on their CCTV to see who spent on the card. They may well do this to prove it was not the actual customer who spent on the card if they are trying to claim back the cards money, but fact is, the manager will know who you are, and security team.

Babe, you should have handed the card in!!

Yes after seeing what happened to the people who found the lottery ticket I would be very afraid.

Hand it in and make someones day - a much better feeling.

Too late- the OP spent it- all that will happen now is the store that it was spent in will probably look into it, see who the OP is to know that it wasn't the actual person who owned the card (and so theft) and the store manager and security will know who the OP is and this could well affect how the OP is treated when inside the store. (And they could even keep a camera photo on site for future reference).

The card holder may well get the money back as the card was insured (part of registering it online safe guards against theft) but to be honest, I wouldn't want to be the OP now- not unless she took the stuff back for a refund and handed the card into the store it was found in!

The card holder should contact the stores customer services to see about getting anything back or following up the card.

i found a tenner in the street just lying there and i kept it.

If it had been in a wallet i would have handed it in.

someone left a tenner on a chair at work last week a customer must have fallen out of his pocket (i phoned him and he is grateful at having it returned)

i have also phoned phones i have found and returned them to the owners.

one was quite expensive and belonged to the pizza delivery guy when i worked in a pub (so happy to get it back he brought us pizza as a thanks.) good karma

if the gift card was in the street and had no pin i would not see a problem spending it, however it has been registered and the person can be traced so i would suggest giving it back.

karma is a very powerful thing so be careful and just think how you would feel if it was you that had lost something.

If you spend it you will not enjoy it you will feel guilty
