Phone stuck on boot up - MWG Zinc - WM 6.1

Is there a master reset ? On my Dell Axim if you press power on and 2 other buttons it asks you if you want to reset. It then clears everything from memory and goes back to factory default.
EDIT:
A quick look round shows this for the reset..
Press the Rec button, bottom button on left side and the reset.
Keep it pressed until the bars stop moving.
Hope that helps. . .0 -
Hi,
Thanks for that.
I press the stylus into the phone on the right hand side but it still hangs on the green start up screen.
Thanks0 -
Hum, if you're holding the right buttons down at the same time you press reset (and, yes you do need 3 hands to do it) it should never get to the startup screen. It should drop to a boot loader which reinstalls the op system...0

Hi,
It is still on the green WM Start up screen.
Is there anything I can do?

What you need to do is not a soft reset but a hard reset. In a hard reset it will take your phone back to factory settings so make sure you back up all your data before doing so.
The way to hard reset is as follows:
hold in the quick menu button (bottom left side) and the camera button (bottom right side), press the soft reset button once and then release it but keep the other two buttons pressed until the Zinc 2 reboots
Hope that gets you back up and running.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for that - I have tried this but to no avail - It is still hanging on the green WM start up screen.
Is it for the bin?
Thanks0 -
You might want to try posting on xda developers forum (sorry cant post links yet). They're a great bunch of guys/girls who really know there stuff when it comes to windows mobile. I'm sure someone there will be able to either help you get the phone working or at least point you in the right direction.0

Do you have a storage card inserted? If so try boot without it installed
Failing that the following should point you in the right direction.

Hi,
I have taken the SD Card out but I cannot seem to get the procedure detailed to work.
Is there anywhere that would repair this?
I am near to J15 on the M6.
Thanks0 -
sorry to hear suggestions to date have not worked. one last option left before you spend your money on getting it fixed or a new one depending on the repair costs. Flash a new rom from xda-devs, assuming you can get an activesync connection and the bootloader screen up. I had to do something similar to my universal a couple of years back and it worked. Best place for you to post anymore questions is xda-devs. GL0
