PAYG unauthorised multimedia charges

I noticed back in January that my Orange PAYG account was being deducted £4 per month for an item marked with a numeric reference, and the only clue as to what it was for is the word 'multimedia', which hardly narrowed it down! Orange customer services were unable to tell me what it was for (used Data Protection as an excuse why they couldn't tell me what I was paying for). I have finally found out that it is for TrafficTV, an online traffic information service. Only thing is, I have never used the service, and have never knowingly signed up to the service, yet Orange are allowing them to take £4 off me every month. I have checked and found that the TrafficTV application appears to have been pre-installed on my phone.

I wonder how many people actually check their PAYG usage details like I now do, and therefore how many people are unknowingly paying for services they haven't signed up to. I'd be interested to know if other people have similar experiences, or whether I am just unlucky...

A switched on orange customer services rep has just given me a landline number for Traffic Tv (formally the elusive multimedia sub) - 01625 525599 so I ve rung them and had my mobile number removed from their system! Hope this helps.....
