  • My OH also got a more threatening letter from a creditor today, he called the DRO office who basically said the same to us as they did to you - that they would have received a letter to advise of his DRO the same day we received ours. She said just to ignore them.
On the brighter side if creditors only have 30 days to dispute the DRO by the time the right hand knows what the left is doing their time will be up!

Horrible letter from Egg arrived,, threatening legal proceedings. Made even more scary by wording everything in RED!
Feel anxious once more, I would have thought that all my creditors would have got the picture by now.

Recieved a letter from RBS.....this is it I thought, gonna be notice of a default or notice that they are appealing.
Opened the letter in haste, only to find it is thanking me for my credit card application!!! Huh???? Havent applied for a credit card!!!!

Amazes me that with a DRO under my belt, and a credit file shot to peices, they are still offering me credit! Will definately use this as ammunition should an appeal be launched. They really are irresponsible with credit....its a joke!!!

On another note...my "safe" bank account has been victim to fraud! Some joker took out a direct debit on my account, and completely cleared it!
Was very nearly sick when I saw my statement!
Bank have assured me that the money will be back in my account within 24 hours (still not there yet mind you, and I rang them yesterday) under an indemnity clause.
Also waiting for a phone call from the fraud team.

Sorry to hear that some stupid person has done this to you. I dread this happening to us. Hope they sort it pretty quickly.

Recieved letter from Egg....notification of my Bankruptcy.

Final paragraph of the letter gave me a bit of a scare!!!!

"We will be seeking payment from you for the full amount that you owe us under this agreement as of the date of your bankruptcy, and we will be negociating with the Official Receiver for payment of this sum."

Rang Insolvency Service again (they must be sick to the back teeth of me!!), and they informed me that it was probably a standard letter for bankrupts, and that they hadnt got round to creating one for DROs, and that I should ignore the final paragraph!

    Phew.....

Glad to hear things are going smoothly so far elfieb.

got my DRO paperwork today - 3 of my 5 debts are now with debt collection agencies - managed to negotiate with Metropolitan collection services to pay £5 a month for 3 months for my HSBC overdraft. AIC were not as happy to do so. They have mentioned litigation after making the standard 50% off offer. Told them about my situation and they said they can't accept £5 month. Told them about the DRO option i was considering and they clammed up saying it was the same as bankruptcy etc.

Got to save up the £90 now - hopefully going to mail the paperwork within the next 3 weeks when i have the funds
