If you feel it's worth £12.95 a month then go right ahead, but I would point out that First Direct's is £3 cheaper, much posher and has an interest free overdraft. ;)

If you have HSBC Plus are 1st direct likely to be lenient with credit score or are they strict? I have never used o/d etc but have one on account.... use cheques/dd's/so's every month....

Always wanted a 1st direct but heard they were for perfect credit! Unless you can tell me otherwise - like if they base decision on HSBC score then great! lol

I got this account for the benefits and the interest paid on my account. Least to say I'm not impressed it's being reduced to 0%. Fool, no... wise....yes.

Yea know what you mean, even £20 a year was better than nothing..... never mind, only got 6 months left of contract then will try 1st Direct and see how I get on with applying!

IIRC they take HSBC behavioural score into account. My credit score isn't wonderful (no missed payments but lots of searches) and FD accepted me. Give it a go - if you've not claimed on the insurances or used any of the other benefits (aside from interest) it's possible HSBC would let you break contract on Plus early - they did for me. Don't expect it though.

There seems to be some criticism about these types of packaged accounts, but for me it is worth it, I use all the benefits. :D

The interest rate isn't a benefit as such but it was another perk as my account is always in credit. Hence why I am a litle annoyed.

I was with First Direct but switched to HSBC Plus, the facilities and services HSBC offer, for me, outweight FD.

In any case my Plus costs £6.47 a month :rotfl:

Why don't you ask your nearest HSBC branch? They will be able to tell you. Just request to see an advisor about your account, and the BS will be on screen. I'm sure you know that don't you?
