Nail biting!

As someone who formerly didn't control their debt, I'd avoided buying property. Now with things managed, we attempted to buy a place in January.

After our offer was agreed, we were gazumpted, we moved for another property and now our mortgage is with the final underwriters, a decision is due any time now, they've taken the valuation

But, still I worry that they will turn us down, even though we have the mortgage promise, will they look at our former credit file, or would that have been done before they took our money?

By morning hopefully a letter will have appeared! So close but so far to go!

I just want that mortgage offer to appear!

I'm sure people understand my worrys, or am I alone!

Maybe I should of been honest with him then, it was 5 years ago so hopefully the history has now been replaced by the last twelve months of everything being paid on time!

The valuation came today, the offer hopefully is a day or so away *fingers crossed*

Generally the mortgage companies look at the last 3-5 years residential history. Going to the underwriters - 9 times out of 10 they say "yes"... Plus as Ian W said your mortgage broker (if they are any good!!) should have done their homework first.

So after all that is said and done.. what did the underwriter say?

Sir Winston Churchill: "Nancy, if I were your husband I'd drink it."

The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Too right, we are a long way from being debt free, but its under control and managed without using any of these silly consolodation companies. Won't be taking out any more loans though!

Had a chat with the solicitor today and he thinks it should be nice and easy from now in :D

    Drinks all round!

    Completion day is here :)

According to the Mortgage company the funds were sent Tueday, when they didn't arrive Wednesday, we worried, but they came in 10.30 Thursday.

We have a van booked, our car is loaded, surely nothing can go wrong!

    *worried*
