Vodafone and internet usage abroad
We have recieved a bill for £460 for one month for usage whilst in Norway on the internet!!!!!!!! the new deal was for unlimited internet access and unlimited email, vodaphone say that i should have known and should have read the terms and conditions, i have told them we received the phone a couple of days before the break and the contract with conditions came after we left. They say i should know that by using it abroad it would be expensive, yet at point of contract i told them i am in Norway a lot and took out the international option for that country, they say it doesnt cover the internet. therefore i have to pay this bill but they quickly have offered a 25% discount taking it down to £347
WHAT A RIP OFF! can anyone help?

They offered the discount not me as goodwill. we were only there 9 days and only looked at the daily telegraph newspaper!0

Vodafone charges £8 per MB abroad, except in countries with Vodafone Passport, where it is a bit cheaper. But Norway isn't one of those countries

The phone came to me a day before we went away and the terms and conditions came whilst we were away.0

Would have thought everyone would know by now that anything inclusive won't be abroad. And it will be mightily expensive as well0

You shouldn't have used it until you had seen the terms and conditions then? It's not really Vodafone's fault you went away. You just assumed you knew what the terms and conditions were, which turned out wrong, so I guess you've gotta pay for your mistake. It truly amazes me that people think they can use inclusive allowances abroad.0 -
So when you go abroad how hard would it be for the mobile operators to send you a text or display a web page telling you the costs.
Umm, not very. So why don't they. Would it be because they are trying to catch their customers out and let them run up big bill?0 -

That information is freely available on their website. As far as Vodafone is concerned, you have read and understood that information, and by using the internet you are agreeing to those charges.0 -
