I wake up every morning in my retirement life and lie in bed for s few minutes just giving thanks for my life !!!! I feel truly blessed and love every minute of it
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Many years ago, while on career break with pre-school children, I got bored and stood for election to our parish council. I'm still doing it 28 years later. When I went back to work I had to cut back a bit but I kept on going to the meetings. Now I'm retired I've got more involved again.

It's very satisfying as there are continual opportunities to make a difference to our community. Now I'm retired I spend several months a year abroad but keep in touch by email and make contributions even when I'm away. Like another poster I have also run my own business and I'm not particularly good at taking orders. I now run my own committee - I've recruited a good vice-chairman to take care of things while I'm away.

And no, I'm not a member of any political party, nor would I want to be.
If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?
