At the school where I work they have made the most beautiful stars - cut out of card (could use coloured card or the backs of old Christmas cards) and covered with glitter, sequins, anything to spare really, could cut out bits of foil. These are then hung from the ceiling using lengths of cotton. Looks really effective. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

like the stars idea, we have high ceilings, so would look nice dangling down.0

I made these over the weekend. No idea what you would call them!
Take a few spare baubles and thread some cotton through the loops on the top. Make each bauble hang on a different length cotton. Tie a piece of festive wool/ribbon/wrapping through all the bits of cotton to secure.
Looks good on a front door in place of a wreath, when you use lots of baubles. One or two look good over the edge of a picture and three of four are great on the edges of fire places - although be careful with this area!!!!! ribbon is flammable!!

The baubles also look good hung from door handles. Our friend from Germany attaches them to pretty pieces of fabric (in Christmas colours) first. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I'm glad the stars worked out! Am hoping to start on some myself as ...... school has now broken up where I work, whoopee!! ;D ;D ;D I love them really but life seems really rushed towards end of term with so much going on. Now I can catch up with everyone else and maybe start to enjoy Christmas - daughter is home from uni on saturday so she will want the house to be Christmassy

Can certainly be done with Christmas wrapping paper. Fold paper in half longways: you can cut it like that and stick short ends together to make it longer. Stick up with drawing pins.Festoons from Carrier Bags!
Article says that it can be made with tissue paper but I've not tried that!Signature removed for peace of mind0
