Heh, oh well, I'm not one to go emailling people who pm me unless I've spoke to them via the forum as well.

I really don't think I stand a cat in hell's chance of an interview even though they wrote to me to ask if I'd still be interested after they re-advertised. It is a really, really senior manager's job and I think they will struggle to find anyone who fits the whole JD- it's very diverse!! I fit half of it, but not the other half!

Go for it. You can't expect to fit into a job exactly - there's always a learning curve. Always.
yeah, but the other bit is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of my league - I don't even understand what it is!!!

Almost every job above a certain level is confusing and intimidating until you start in it. For example, if I'd screwed up last night, 200K+ people would have been without internet this morning. Would that have been "out of my league" when I started? Of course. But having said that, I'm the only person who has ever done that kind of work for my employer. I grew quite rapidly into that role, because I was the person who did that sort of thing...IYSWIM...
It really needs splitting into 2 jobs - 1 job being the department specialist (it's Family Services) managing the strategic and data side of the service, service provision etc and the other job being the marketing, research and Customer focus areas. It's a weird bolted together job.

Just looks like a professional meeting goer combined with a bid writer. Even the "work" stuff is just "oversee".

It's the best way...otherwise how would you know what you had in common with them?

    Evening.

Sounds like you had a good time SRM :D

BB, I'm sure I saw on TV that Evans had some sort of a discount offer on  You could always buy something and then return it if you find something better on ebay before the interviews.
