I have one and made the mistake of using it a little too much and am now regretting it trying to pay back astronomical interest... I'd try capital one or barclaycard initial if I was you.

The Vanquis card is a very valuable sub-prime credit card for those with no or less than perfect credit records to work their way up to a more mainstream card.

I have the card. Only get it if your credit rating isn't that great.

My vanquis is around 35%, Aqua 36% and CapitalOne 35%. They're all quite close interest.

The interest rate doesn't matter if you pay the balance off every month - ie only spend what you can afford and ultimately it's a means to get to a better place credit wise.
Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
    Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
    ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:

Excellent experience so far from me but I'd not recommend it (or any card) for long term debt. Good for managing short-term finances only or if you need a card to budget where other companies have refused in the past.

They don't yet do online account maintenance which is a pain.
