Thanks for the advice Never , just did an online report with experian, seems it only goes back 36 mths so maybe need to get it posted to see all payment dates but certainly saw nothing about defaults, i had the vodafone contract from 2004 for 12 months but theres no hint of them on there, no searches or accounts so have oredered my equifax to see if anything is on there but seems experian know nothing of me ever having it.Would i get a default sent to one agency and not tell another?

Yes mate, Equifax & Experian hold totally different data cos for example Barclays check Equifax whereby Alliance & Leicester check Experian. You can see my point......

Get both Experian & Equifax to get the 'real picture'

Hi hope you can help with this got in a lot of money troubles last year due to a nasty break up, contacted all my creditors rearding this and came to repayment plans, however they all keep asking me to increase repayments to which i could not, so in the end just stopped paying heard nothing from these companies for months then on an annual review of my bank account i was told there was an indicator on my account sayiny ADVERSE DATA held against me with the cra:s, I immediatley obtained my credit reports recieved equifax immediatley but experian have asked for proof of id, i was shocked to find 8 defaults registered in the last year :eek:when no default notices were sent to myself! if i have read my report correct most of these seemed to have been placed by dca, as no defaults notices were recieved by myself do you think i could try to get these removed, help is really needed here as bank wont even give me a small overdraft due to this adverse data.

Yes you can have them removed as you must have been served a default notice? Best advice would be to follow the steps here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1674391

Read the whole first couple of pages for the letters and what they do!

Get the CCA first then try to fight the legalities of ownership (unenforceability) which will/can put the account in dispute and then the defaults are removed - adverse data cannot be registered whilst your account is in dispute.

Specific letter after CCA request for defaults is here: #5

Complex to explain unless you've read up..... Start here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1612055

I have sent a CCA request off to Tesco to try and get my default removed as this was a loan. I am quite sure that the dates are wrong for this default as it was a year after I went on a Debt management program.

I decided to phone them up as I also wanted to know the balance just to make sure that it was not overpaid. In the last 5 years I have not recieved any correspondence from them at all. Even though I was using a dmp company at the time other companies continued to send me statements to show the money was being paid off. When I phoned them up they could not find me on the system at all. It appeared after 15 minutes of searching that my address was not on the system or my bank details. It seemed that they had got my address and bank details as that of the dmp company and therefore could not help me. I told them that it was MY account and I should have access to it. They said I would have to phone back, but I do know they keep a lot of their information with a third party supplier.

To cut a long story short I have a feeling if they had changed my details to that of the DMP as soon as I went on it, so I would not have recieved a Default notice.

Is that illegal as it seems very wrong as I was never informed.
