Shaanbles wrote:...I applied on the basis thinking there was no fee because of what was said on this site and from the statement "on promotional rates except introductory offer" verbage. My online application was accepted and I got the paperwork today and then phoned to check about the fee - got told there would definitely be a 2% fee.0

Shaanbles wrote:No the T&C's are the same, I just found them confusing - I wrongly thought that the 2% fee did not apply during the introductory period. :mad:
"We may charge a handling fee of 2% (at least £2) for balance transfers and cheques offered at special promotional rates other than a special promotional rate you received when your account was opened."
and does the summary box say:
"Balance Transfer Fee
2% or minimum £2 (on promotional rates except introductory offer)"0 -
I just applied for the NSPCC card. Did anyone else find the final screen slightly confusing. I applied and filled in all my security information but I didn't get any final screen saying if I had been accepted or whether I would get a letter. It all seemed a bit vague???Debt on 31/01/2006 = £6345.14
Total debt today = £5663.50
Cards = £4206.34
Overdraft = £1100.00
Loan = £357.22 (ends January 2007)
£2 collection club = £10 so far
20p collection club = £2 so far0 -
Yes the printed T&C's are the same, but the summary box doesn't include the bit in brackets on the printed copy, but it is there online.
So does "..other than a special promotional rate you received when your account was opened" mean they won't charge 2%?0 -
Shaanbles wrote:I don't understand when you say they have no right to charge - they state they may charge it so why can't they?
If I say: "I may use all words other than '****' ", doesn't this mean that I cannot (have no right to) use the word '****'?0 -
When you put it that way it makes total sense!
If they end up charging me then I'll complain at the ambiguity and give them your example0 -
David_Woodford wrote:Same here. Received my MENCAP card paperwork today. Disappointed to note that I would be required to pay a 2% balance transfer fee, but I'm still quids in because I'm moving debt from a 15.9% Sainsbury's card.
David, you won't be able to do this directly as the Sainsburys and the Mencap card are both part of the Halifax Bank Of Scotland group of cards. Do you have any other credit cards at the moment?0
