    Flight changes

    Aircraft
We may occasionally have to change the type of aircraft used on a particular flight without advance warning. In such circumstances where the Passenger has paid an additional seat supplement and such seat cannot be provided, then the Passenger shall only be entitled to a refund of the supplement paid.

This route is normally serviced using a 737-800 but according to Thomsons systems they are booking at 757-200, which they do operate out of Stansted, just not normally on this route.

Airlines can change planes due to scheduling and maintenance time to time but this is very uncommon to put a larger plane on.

Please get written documentation as to the reservation of extra leg room seats, rather than allocated seating. If in the event of you not being given the extra leg room you will be credited the full amount back. If you are just allocated seats, then these are the seats you will be sitting in - irrelevant of plane type.

It would be Thomson's responsibility to get you on the plane or look after you if they did fully load a 757 and then allocate a 737.

Thanks SwissLe you are a :A this is why i posted on this forum because i didn't get the answer on the other even though they were helpful.

You will get on the plane, there is no doubt about that. They do not over book on the plane. Now La Islas (the inter connecting Canary Island flights they are a different story!!! :-)

You will get your extra leg rooms seats or a refund. Stop worrying and enjoy your holiday!

Thomson would not overbook. If they are selling 235 seats they will have an aircraft with 235 seats. If they have an aircraft with 180 seats they will only sell 180 seats.

I have actually seen MANY cases where Thomson have problems with their booking systems and indeed have to substitute planes.

When I worked in Tenerife for a few months, I was offered cash, hotels, alternative flights with taxi money to my chosen destination in order to skip onto another flight. It was particularly common when ThomsonFly.com started booking seats.

I have had many good hotel stays and meals on TUI!

Of course they would never dream of overbooking.

The sad reality is that airlines do overbook. Ryanair are a very notable exception - but Thomson will be no different to other carriers.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Spot on... it does happen and no airline is immune from the problem as far as I'm aware!! Sometimes its human error and some airlines purposely overbook and hope some passengers don't show... But I wouldn't worry OP it would be a serious error on Thomson's part if they got the aircraft type wrong and overbooked. If they did they would have to sort something out. Chill & enjoy your break :D

I wouldnt stress about it. Just look forward to the joy of holidaying on Kefalonia. Its a relatively short flight and if you want something to stress about then take a peek out the window as the engines shut down and the plane swoops low, does a sharp u turn and lines up with the runway. The airport is small, the runway isnt that long and it lies across a finger of land with sea on the approach and end of runway. It is not unknown for incoming aircraft to do a touch and go. Enjoy your hols on my favourite island....sigh
