Ive chosen a Dell Studio and gone through all the stages - choosing speakers etc. It doesn't mention that the dvd writer is dual layer though. Does this mean that it isn't?

Probably. Do you need dual layer?

No, not particularly. But this pc has got to last me a few years and I don't want to wish later I had gone for a dual layer dvd. The Dell website doesn't give me the choice of dual layer though on the particular machines Im choosing.

You can add a dual layer DVD drive for £15 ish, so it's no big deal.
