does anyone know why ity hd is not in the sky Epg

ITV HD is (currently) exclusive to Freesat, which is a separate platform to Sky:

ITV HD is a red-button service available exclusively to freesat customers, and select sporting events, movies and dramas are available in HD.

At the moment ITV HD is not a proper channel, it is a red button feature of ITV on the freesat platform. This is a problem expecially for reginal advertisers as it carrys ITV Granada adverts only. Until this is sorted (and ITV pay the fee for an EPG slot) then it will not 'officially' appear on the Sky platform. By the way it is nothing to do with Sky, if ITV want it carried they just need to pay the EPG fee.

You wil note I say 'officially' above. The new HD EPG allows you to put the right parameters in so it can be added as channel under other channels. Not ideal as you cant Sky+ or see programme details but is better then nothing.

Here is the link i used to add ITV HD to my Sky HD box.

It made the Man U game the other night a lot better quality as the standard ITV on Sky feed is pretty poor.

As Poker Lad has advised, you can't record or see the programme details but yeah its better than nothing.

You are partially correct. I am told that Sky+ boxes can't record ITV HD but other receivers certainly can if they access it as channel 10510.

Sky+ can not watch ITVHD at all, only Sky+HD box with new EPG can as has been talked about above. Channel 10510 is how it appears in 'other channels' once added to the new EPG.

Of course there are other non Sky solutions but the question specifically asked about ITVHD on the Sky platform.
