I freeze all my bread, then make sandwiches in the morning with frozen bread. On the plus side, if you're watching your weight, you can spread the marg more thinly on frozen bread. Then I put in my filling (lemon curd, ok) and by lunchtime, my sarnies have defrosted and I have lovely fresh bread! The freezing means I never waste a loaf.

Don't you have problems separating the slices or do you just freeze them all individually? ???

I know this thread is about sandwiches, but does anyone know whether you can freeze mash?  I had loads left over and it seemed a shame to waste it.  (Really didn't feel like making potato cakes tonight!)

    Thanks
    Squidge  ;D

put it in freezer bags in portion sizes, and it'll freeze for 3 months, defost and reheat.

freeze the loaf is what i do, or if its a large loaf, do half and half. the slices come apart easily enough with a little tap.

    Agreed, no problem with bread.

Sliced Soreen, now that's another matter.

Don't try to cut frozen Soreen (or any other malt loaf)

Don't try to slice malt loaf and then freeze it in order to take a slice or two out as needed.

Soreen or malt loaf is self-healing

    Just don't do it ;)

LOL @ Self Healing Malt Loaf.

I've ran out of frozen sarnies and didn't think it was worth buttering and slicing another skip load as there is only two weeks left of term. Been a real bind making them in the morning though and it's only Monday :(
Will make a months worth during the hols to see us through Jan :)
