Hoping some of you computer wizards on here might be able to help me-I know its not a totally computer based prob but pretty please??!!
I'm having a prob with my Iphone and linking it with Itunes
Everything was fine until this morning when i linked my iphone to the computer and started up itunes-it prompted me to upgrade to iphone 2.2.1 so i downloaded the software and then restarted my computer as instructed.
When i went back onto itunes at the top it says 'syncing iphone' this carries on for infinity, it wont let you close the itunes screen-its like it has crashed?
Ive tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it but same prob occurs-what can i do??? Thanks for any help or advice at all that anyone can give.

Try selecting the manually manage music in the settings.
Apologies if you have done this already0 -

I believe (but not 100% sure) that when you install new software on an iphone/ipod it has to recopy all your music/videos/applications/etc to the device when syncing. This obviously takes quite a while to do - how long is 'infinity'?Dan

When you plug in the iphone the option to manually manage is in there - somewhere
Don't have one to hand at the minute
If you do a search for manually manage music on itunes there are some guides0 -
>I believe (but not 100% sure) that when you install new software on an iphone/ipod...<
Certainly for upgrading from 1.x to 2.x that's true, for 2.x to 2.y the content is preserved.0 -
half an hour or so (hey thats infinity when you are sat in front of a stuck screen!) hmm perhaps thats it then, ill try just leaving it for a couple of hours! thanks
have just done a diagnostic test test through itunes and it says sync failed so think there might be prob anyway...:-/ even when i unplug the iphone the screen still says 'syncing iphone' and you cant click on anything else0 -
the only way I can get rid of the itunes screen is by shutting dowm my computer by switching it off at the mains!! while the screen is up the computer wont let my turn it off or restart.0
