Lasagne in slow cooker

Hi, i'm new to slow cooking (only had the sc 2 weeks) and at the request of my family i'm attempting a Lasagna for tonight. Just spent the last 2 hours doing the meat and white sauce and layering it all into the slow cooker.
I've followed the recipe exact but to me it seems very dry, the recipe didn't ask for any liquid to be added to the meat but it was so dry i added some water. The mixture is still very thick though as is the white sauce and i'm tempted to add some boiling water to the slow cooker, just pouring it in as obviously been lasagna i can't stir in it.
So over to all you slow cooker requlars, has anyone ever cooked a lasagna this way? and should i just see how it turns out or should i add water?

a firiend of mine always swore by adding a small glass of milk to the top of her lasagne, but don't think she ever made it in a slow cooker..
So not sure if this suggestion is of much use!0 -
Thanks, i'm going to do that (will heat the milk first) sounds much better idea than adding water.£2 coin savers club = £2880

Don't forget no water would escape the slow cooker so all the moisture in there will stay there
In an oven a lot of it would evaporate

Only added a bit as when i checked on it the cheese had melted lovely and liquid was bubbling up nicely round the edges. It looks and smells fantastic, if it tastes ok then i will post the recipe.£2 coin savers club = £2880

i always find that mince recipes appear a little dry at first in the SC but soon they start to "cook down" and they are fine : )0

I do a cheat's chicken lasagne in the slow cooker.
One layer of chopped tomatoes and oions and garlic
one layer of lasagne
one layer of chopped chicken and Campbells cream of chicken or mushroom or asparagus soup - mixed with a little milk
Keep repeating layers and finish with a little grated cheese on top.
Cook on high for about 4 hours or medium for 6 hours approx.

Well Lasagna was a 50/50 success, Hubby, eldest son and me loved it, youngest son and daughter wouldn't eat it and eldest daughter ate some but wasn't keen, but then again my lot are finicky at the best of times and finding something they will all eat is near impossible. I will put the recipe in the proper section in case anyone wants to try it.
Oh, and i did find that it didn't need the extra liquid as once it started to cook down it was just right as RachB said.
Tonights experiment is Pork and Pineapple curry which i have just put in so fingers crossed this gets more of them on side.£2 coin savers club = £2880 -
I will be going on maternity leave soon and have decided that while Im at home I will start batch cooking to build up a stock of meals in the freezer so when baby arrives I hopefully won't have to worry too much about meals. I have a question..can I cook a lasagne in a slow cooker? If so, would this be the way to do it....brown mince and onions in a pan first, throw in slow cooker along with other veg, add tin of toms, seasoning, stir it, layer in lasagne sheets, top with white sauce and grated cheese...lid on, leave to cook on low for 8 hours. Is that right?love my little man he is amazing :j0

Hi Helen,
I've never tried it in the slow cooker but I imagine you would need to make it in the same way as a baked lasagne. Make your bolognese sauce and white sauce separately and then layer it up as you would normally.
There's an earlier thread that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.
